I know it's not really OS but I've started buying a magazine called 'In the Know' which is about interesting current events etc rather than the usual "does my bum look big in this?" type drivel in most other magazines.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

doddsy wrote:yep - got it on Saturday in WHSmith Worcester. I am a little disappointed in the first issue, it didn't tell me anything I didn't know already. It seems to be aimed at city type people who have a 'vision' of moving to the country to have an aga and keep chickens:rolleyes:

Finally got hold of my copy and you are right, seems very aimed at people aspiring to live the country life and can afford to buy the house, the aga, the Range Rover.....although I enjoyed the articles on what to keep in a pantry and preserving stuff.
Just to let everyone know that SHE magazine looks very good this month, some great recipes and a free (although abridged) copy of Nigel Slater's Real Fast Food which was worth the cover price alone to me.0 -

I bought it for that reason too, then realised I already had NS's Real Fast Food!!! Should have known as I have most of his books!!!! Still will pass it on to spread the word as I just love his food philosophy.0 -
I'm getting a bit confused here. I went on the WHSmith website and ordered the Grow Your Own Magazine and the money has been taken out of my bank but it's never arrived, did I have to go and pick it up from the shop in town?
I am going to pop in and have a good nose today though. I have 30 minutes to kill whilst I'm waiting for the stuff in Argos.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
