Sorry if this has been covered before- I've tried reading through some old posts but there are so many I've given up!!
I bought the Pru health insurance 2 months ago, but only activated my gym membership yesterday. If I cancel the Pru after 6 months, will my gym membership be cancelled immediately too or will I be allowed the full 6 months free?

I would think that the gym membership stops when you cancel the policy as the agreement is between Pru and the gym. Pru make payments to the gym on your behalf, you just use their facilities!

Is your gym membership active yet? I took up this offer in August and activated my membership last week over the phone. Still waiting for details to come through the post.

For those that have activated their gym membership and use Pru Member Zone online service, does Holmes Place show up in the list of Vitality Benefits?

The gym membership will be active from the date you agreed when you call them. They said you can use your Pruhealth card and that number they give you over the phone. Admittedly, its easier with the Holmes Place card since all they do then is swipe it when you come in.

And yes, Holmes Place shows up in my Active Vitality Benefits.

I have been informed that your gym membership is directly connected with your pru membership, so if u cancel pru, the gym membership cancels as well. You can cancel at any point, which i assume with a letter 30 days before the month u want to cancel.

I will just be cancelling my direct debit after 6 monthly installments have come out of my account using internet banking! Saves phoning them.

Says here under Terms and Conditions that the offer expires 28th January 2006?
  • ^Your right! 28th February! NOT JANUARY.

That link that you mentioned was the original offer which was available until February 2006. The offer was then relaunched in the summer of 2006 (and subsequently extended).

I have just checked the Pru Health Intermediary Zone and I can confirm that the 6 months free gym membership has been extended to 1st January 2007 but this may not be available to all brokers or affiliates (or they may choose not to offer it).

How do you access the Intermediary Zone?
