Thats useless, its completely biased towards the system being perfect, as if you dare to disagree with the system, or point out its flaws, or warn others of the possible problems, the thread gets moved to DT.

The proper benefits section is literally just a question/answer about current rules forum, no discussion allowed.

which is exactly what its for,and it serves its purpose well

Okay . I'm probably going to get shot down in flames for this but whats happened to DT recently ? It used to be interesting ,with a variety of subjects and opinoins . Now it's just seems to one benefit thread after another.

My question is, would it be an idea to have a seperate benefit discussion area leaving DT for other subjects ? I for one would appreciate it .

What are your thoughts please good idea or not ?

I'll get my coat :p

I think there are too many benefits threads as well - as soon as one ends, another one starts, usually on some pretext of asking a question, but always there to start an argument.

I can't think there is much left to say on the subject lol;)

I used to quite enjoy the benefit debates...but now they all go one way

1. Start benefit thread
2.Someone mentions DLA
3. The 'my depressions worse than yours' brigade come out
or
4. The 'I can't work because *the busses don't run past my front gate/I'm not working for less than £40 an hour/I'm waiting for the ideal job working 12-1 with an hours lunch break (*delete as appropriate)'brigade start whinging.

However some of the non working excuses can be entertaining sometimes.

However-can't bash anyone just now, got to go to work...:p:p

Good idea Mandi. You should post a request in the site feedback thread.

Maybe it is because those of us who work hard and pay tax are feeling the pinch a bit due to recession and it makes us a bit resentful of the fact that the appears to be so many people claiming benefits, in many instances pulling in more than those of us that are working, and sometimes when there is no reason why they can't work.

Many of us know someone who is claiming benefits for "a bad back" for example but then we see them digging the garden and up ladders fixing the roof or whatever.

Morning all :D

Thanks for the suggestion - can I suggest that you put it in the site feedback section where it would be seen by the MSE forum team, ultimately they make the decisions.

In the meantime, discussion threads will be moved to DT as per this directive:
I’ve asked Board Guides to move discussions from the MoneySaving boards if they’re not related to MoneySaving to help everyone find the MoneySaving tips and discussion quicker (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to Discussion Time/The Arms. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

It means that it is easier for people to find the right information quickly rather than having to go through 35 pages of posts (and probably losing the will to live on the way and being scared to post!). Many people that ask questions on the benefit boards need the information quickly and so not having discussions on there makes it easier for all of us to spot those which need real help.

unfortunalty you always get those who want to put others down whether there was a new sub section or not because the cowards cant help it
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you
