Complain when your balance drops from 30K to 8352, which is what has just happened to my balance...:p
The August mailing is coming out, hence the points drop.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

spa2k wrote:The reason that CS shouldnt refund on wrongly placed items is that the SEL does not refer to the product above it.
For example if you went into pc world and picked up an Intel processor but it has an Athlon SEL with a totally different price then what would you expect to be charged for?
Its an extreme example but is alot clearer than the ecover which im sure has confused many.
This is not a defence of the stance taken, merely an attempt to point out their point of view.
I mean, your example was extreme and obviously very straightforward. In my case, it was two products that were virtually the same: same brand, same type of product. I genuinely did not realise the SEL was for something else until they compared the barcodes (I was buying the product anyway without planning to R&R it). Imagine you're buying, say, Scotch-Brite Super Ultra Scourers, with the SEL just referring to "SB scourers", and then it turns out that they were actually referring to Scotch-Brite Super Duper Ultra scourers - come on, who's going to know exactly which one it is?
Also, the fact that the other product was not there at all and there was just the one SEL - what was I supposed to think? I assumed that the only SEL there referred to the product that was there.0 -

If the policy is enforced to the letter then it matters not wether there is an ultra in the description or a super, however common sense should be applied.
If the correct checks are being carried out then the situation should not arise however it obviously has and therefore one way or another, be it price integrity at fault or the shelf fillers, a mistake has been made. In this instance and as a gesture of goodwill R&R should apply.
There are very clear procedures that are drilled into members of staff right from the day of their induction (we have posters designed around this displayed in various places in our store) to prevent a simple mistake such as this happening. There are some places where it is hard to prevent this from happening, where you see small labels with no EAN number displayed is a good example.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

if shelf edge is 1p more a kilo but same price per pound is that a R & R
thanks0 -
I've never been lucky enough to get an expensive electrical item, best things I have got so far have been computer games....I will be on the look out for more, but I think my Tesco is far too on the ball. This is Tescos Western Avenue in Cardiff, unless there is someone here who is getting there first?0

My wife has just had her first (and probably last) experience of r&r.
She is aware of the policy but unlike me has never activly sought to take advantage of it.
She's jsut phoned me to tell me that whilst shopping she noticed she'd been overcharged, returned to the store and expected them to honour their own policy, the mistake being obvious as the label on the product didn't match the price paid.
At first they offered the difference only, followed by refund on two, difference on two.
Then the old chestnut - bulk buying policy. The fact she'd bought 8 tins of a different item, 6 bottles of fizzy drink, etc etc. There was no sign so how can they introduce that retrospectively.
Then after a lot of huffing and puffing they said "just this once" what the hell does that mean? Are they saying they won't overcharge her again or that the policy only applies when they feel like it.
Like I said she was fuming and embarassed and made to feel like she was in the wrong, is this Tesco's idea of Customer Service?0 -

Hi Sparky,
Do you have any tips for us points beginners?

As far as I'm aware Tesco and all other retailers have to sell by the kg, the pound is for information only and for those of us who still get confused with metric.
So if the difference is per kg I would say yes, although I'm not sure if I would be confident enough to argue about a 1p difference.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
I think that they are well clued up at Western Avenue, I try down Pengam Green now, they seem to have a "staff" shortage, they are refurbing as well, so there are bound to be a few opportunities to R&R in the next few days!Sig ah Sig Ahhh0

Where is Pengham Green? i've had a few in Western Avenue, but its run too efficiently for my liking! Shocked when I see the state of other Tescos on my travels, and how many RnR oppurtunities there seems to be.0
