Would somebody be so kind as to clarify the PSP/PS2/Xbox R&R as I want to try it tonight.

    Cheers

Sorry, I've missed something here Dann, which criminal offence has Bassman commited, I thought he was r&r'ing not shoplifting.

Surely this is complying with Tesco's policy, in the same way that when I shop I look out for BOGOF's and special offers, in accordance with their policy of Buy one get one free.

    Thanks

There’s usually a big difference in truth between what people say and what people do. People aren’t usually banned after one ‘R+R’ incident but rather for a collection of them.

Bassmans previous posts would highlight his intent and character and the actions themselves will have been recorded at the stores he has visited. Bassman would not have to actually commit a criminal offence to be able to retain the CCTV footage. The CCTV footage could be retained for prevention or detection of criminal activity, or the apprehension and prosecution of offenders. The footage can be kept as long as it takes to complete evidence against him. Since bassman is now banned a photo has most likely been printed and would be used to prevent trespassing, burglary, etc.

I can’t say for certainty what would happen in this particular case and I don't know what evidence they have but I can try to shed some light on what happens on the other side of the fence.

You are quite right DANN in your post as I am a Store Detective myself and I know that your post is factual.

However, how do Tesco's prove that he is deliberately R&Ring? You say that BASSMANs previous posts would highlight his intent & character. How can Tescos link the two together?

Also, his actions were probably not recorded at the stores he visited. As they seldom are in my extensive experience. The only record Tesco would have is that of a name and postcode and that would only have been supplied by himself, if they even asked. I have only been asked once ever and that was today when I got a load of R&R's. Further more, there is probably no CCTV footage of him as the SD or the CCTV Op probably didn't even notice him doing anything suspicious apart from being a shopper. They wouldn't have called the police either until a provable offence had been committed.

And finally, there is no link on r&Rers between stores.

Most stores don’t have security so you shouldn’t have any problems getting R+R’s unless there’s a sharp manager about. Stores that do have the in-store security systems in place (not agency) you should be careful of or avoid altogether.

I think the Security Officer was probably talking about Fraud by false representation in which you were purposely seeking mispriced items to purchase in bad faith. This I’m afraid you were guilty of and I am not surprised a ban was enforced.

The fact that the Security Officer has seen you doing this before means he most likely has CCTV footage of it. If you combine that with your previous posts on this forum you’ll find it gives him more then enough evidence to ensure the ban stands.

So to answer your question on whether or not they were correct in doing this I’ll say yes. I’m sure though you will still contact Head Office and give it a go but if they contact the store and the Security Officer you may find a banning notice issued to your address.

This I'm afraid is a right load of nonsense.

Yarmouth refused? Wow... Did you get the name of the manager who refused you? I've never known Yarmouth to refuse an R&R. There are a couple of really evil cows on CS who moan and groan and argue the toss, but they never normally manage to get out of R&Ring. I actually put in a complaint about one CS there (nothing to do with R&Ring). I can't R&R in that store, as I cannot afford to get banned from there (work, etc... :( ). I don't work for Tesco, however.

Stalham's a bloody horrible store. Even the staff who work there hate it! You should have given Caister a go (not sure if they still sell electricals, mind). Whilst in Norwich, you should have tried Harford Bridge. Also, remember that Lowestoft has 2 stores and is only 10 miles south of Yarmouth. Beccles isn't far, either. Dereham likes to argue the toss.

Thanks for that. The manager was in charge of the electrical dept. I quite like Stalham as I get r&rs there all the time and they have always made apologies. I never go to Caister as it is crap.

Can you please explain why?......in case I have to defend this accusation
  • Hi guys

Am new here and decided to lose my R&R virginity today and managed to find a bargain with some lamb leg steaks - scanned wrong, went through the till wrong but when I went to CS they refused to refun saying I had healthy living steaks and the price was for normal ones - even though the price was on the shelf by the ones I picked up. They said it was a mistake on their behalf and as a matter of goodwill (this after me muttering about trading standards and mispricing) would refund the difference. I dug my heels in and pointed out their policy and the manageress still refused. Anyway I got a full refund (after giving them back) and have emailed head office. Am quite peeved by this. Now realise I should have maybe kept the steaks and got refund from head office.
  • Help pls from my learned friends.;)
Bought 3 packs of socks on the back to school range and the advertised 10% hasn't come off on my receipt. I am going to take them back in morning question is will i still get an R&R or just the 10%.

just to give me some ammo before i venture in:D
