Question about a roundabout

And more than double the chances of an accident. Two streams of traffic entering the roundabout from the same entrance in two lanes trying to get into the same single lane exit.
This is exactly what causes the cutting up on the roundabout near me, some people can't be bothered to wait in the correct lane so they fly past the traffic by going in the right lane and cut someone up when they take the exit.
The two streams can merge. Both lanes are valid. Calling it "cutting up" is adopting an attitude of "I'm in the right, these people are committing an offence against me."Happy chappy0 -

near me are 2 rounabouts same amount of exits but the first ra is slightly smaller what bewilders me is that on first ra some idiots going straight on are in right hand lane and on second ra the same idiots are in the left hand lane.
maybe their getting in practise on first ra to master the second ra0 -
Ooh, i will be contraversial here as I have been taught differently. i have been taught that there is only 1 left turn and the 2nd exit is considered straight on regardless of whether it is at 180 degrees or not. Anything else would be in the right hand lane.
There are no lane direction arrows on approach, so the lane to choose depends solely on the driver's interpretation of left, ahead or right.
Despite posters squabbles on here about 180°, left of 180 or right of 180, just think for a moment... if there is an exit well to the left and well to the right, does it really matter if the exit ahead is 179°, 180° or 181°? The fact remains that in proportion to the other two exits, the middle one is clearly ahead and the highway code advice can be followed thus:
Rule 186 says:
When taking any intermediate exit, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise- select the appropriate lane on approach to the roundabout
- you should not normally need to signal on approach
- stay in this lane until you need to alter course to exit the roundabout
- signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want
If you need more convincing, simply post the location of this roundabout and I'll grab a couple of pics from Google streetview that will prove my point perfectly.0 -
I was wondering if I could pick your brains re a roundabout I use coming home from work. There’s 2 lanes approaching the roundabout, the way I’ve been using the roundabout is I enter the roundabout(approach road marked red) in the left lane and treat as though I’m going straight on but I’ve noticed some drivers get in the right hand lane and takes the same exit(blue) as me. Just to add the road marked black has a barrier across the road so is that classed as a left turn or is it disregarded. So my question is if I’m taking the blue exit would I treat it as though I’m going straight on or if I’m going right ?
Heres a link to a picture of the roundabout
thanks
Slightly off topic but is your username in reference to Derby County FC?0 -

The roundabout below is 2 lanes where the red dot is on the approach. Where the blue dot is, the exit, is only one lane. A good percentage of cars exit to the right from the left hand lane on this particular roundabout. There are no lane markings. I have seen so many near misses there from cars in the left hand lane turning right its untrue. Question is, are they correct to do so?
refering to this roundabout if i was approaching uisng the road marked red i would indicate right to exit via the blue exit0
