    Personally I'd be in the right hand lane to take the 2nd exit. Take a look on Google street view to give you a better look at the approach - look up Golf Club Lane, Brockworth..

    No it doesn't, it simply gives an example of a car in the right-hane lane intending to turn right, it doesn't state that its wrong to be in that lane if continuing straight on.

    If I was approaching on the Red and leaving on the Blue then:
    exit is more than 180 degrees round, so right hand lane.

    I'm sorry but you would in no way fail your driving test by entering the roundabout in the right-hand lane to take the 2nd exit, unless directed otherwise by roadsigns.
