Hi Horace - sorry you have been subjected his abuse. How different from the man who can't do enough for you when he's talking you out of your money! Anyway, yet again, he's failed to offer the date - I hope that helps our case. You'd think that he might be worried about upsetting a wedding planner - he must realise you have contacts.:(

Hi Beks, think I saw your OH on the tele this am? I should be going to CAB tomorrow but I haven't been able to get the court forms yet so I cancelled. Hope I can get the forms and another appointment soon but I've been a bit pre-occupied with a poorly mum for the past few weeks. She's on the mend now so I should be able to take up the fight again soon. I really would like to be looking forward to DD's big day but there's a permanent cloud hanging over things - I don't need to tell you what that's like.

Viole - yeh, he was on yesterday, dont think he was on today but he could have been!

The form you need is the N1 claim form. You can download the claim form here:

You can either print it off and fill it in in pen or you can type it out online but you cant save it which is a bit of a pain!!!
Make sure you go for interest. Any thing else, let me know!

What an odious little man! How dare he speak to Horace like that?!! Perhaps a review on trip advisor about his disgusting behaviour when you were trying to arrange a wedding at his venue might be appropriate? It must surely be time to name and shame this awful man and his venue before any more unsuspecting people book their wedding there and get this disgusting treatment. Its unbelievable!! :mad:

I am so angry that this has happened to someone else! I am also so glad that I worked out the establishment as I am in the area looking for a venue. Hope that you also get your cash back ASAP. I have had a few companies now be really rubbish to me rude emails etc etc etc stating they cannot meet our requirements but nothing as bad as this
we are yet to find a venue!

Hi Viole/Beks

I PM'd Beks last night as I thought the story sounded familiar....the same venue swindled £1500 from my Brother in Law and his wife a couple of years back.

They basically made a booking with an older gentleman (who they said was lovely - might be current owners dad) and when they went back to arrange it was a different person who denied all knowledge of the booking and said if they wanted the date it was going to cost X amount more as they had redecorated rooms etc. He was incredibly rude and as they hadn't got a written quote the first time he refused to honour any agreement so they had no choice but to cancel and lose their deposit, it would seem things at this place haven't changed.

I mentioned this to Beks but have any of you complained to KCC, they have the right to remove a venues wedding licence for poor conduct and I think this place definately fits the bill! Contact details are on the councils website - it's got to be worth a shot!

Hi Beks and voile, been following Beks thred ( glad you have a result) amazed to find another been ripped off, now it seems there are at least 3 of you.... has any one considered watchdog, think this !!!! needs all the bad publicity he could possibly get.

I have risen above the horrid little weasel, a night at a networking dinner and the request to sit on a sub-committee to organise a 25th anniversary party for the networking group and be their raffle ticket queen cheered me up no end.


Viole - I hope you get your money back, don't feel bad about him screaming at me, it upset me at the time but not now..it is not time to get mad, its time to get even:rotfl: I am in a couple of networking groups - one of which has 30,000 members and these peeps like to play golf but they won't be playing golf any time soon well they will but they won't be staying at this venue:rotfl:
