Puddings, thank you, unbelievable that he is can do this to more than one person (having said that, circumstances are different but he is still going against trading standards laws). I hope I can be of some help to viole although she seems to be doing a good job already.

I am still awaiting a response from him and my 'client' is getting tetchy, she wants details of availability in September and October so that she can make arrangements to view when she comes over from the States at the moment this particular venue isnt even making the shortlist (not that it will ever make the shortlist before anyone asks). Viole, I will keep asking until I get a response.

Thanks Horace, I'm sure he'll say that the date is available now because he's been found out. Still we can say that he's not making much effort to sell the date - he'd have been on to it like a shot if he was really making any effort to resell.

Beks - I'm pretty sure that when I started I was speaking to Trading Standards then somewhere along the line they became Consumer Direct. CD have passed it on to TS though because TS contacted me and asked for more details. However, TS don't deal with individual cases, as you know, so I'm off to CAB to see if they think I've got a case. I hope they think I have!

Hi Puddings, Since I've made such a massive mistake myself I don't expect that my advice will be any good at all but I'll give it anyway! Don't let your friend be pressured into signing any deals on the day. If it's a reputable venue they'll let her think about it and come back when she's sure - the deal will still be there.

No response despite me sending a further email and not even an acknowledgement although I know he has read it. I shall email him again later today with details of my client's budget to see if that will generate some interest from him, I may point out the lack of courtesy (I hate rudeness).

What can I say, I am actually rather upset and it takes a lot to upset me. I sent a polite email this morning asking for a response because I hadnt heard from him since 27 April, the email wasnt sarcastic, it was pleasant and polite. Boy, did I get a response - he phoned me at lunchtime as I was having lunch - the loathsome creature denied all knowledge of even sending a vague response to my request and I got a tirade of abuse which was quite upsetting..I admit that I did put the phone on the table and the business men sitting on the table next to me showed some concern because they hadnt heard such language..I explained to them afterwards who it was.

Needless to say I have been told to stick my job and my client and that he would never do business with me or anyone else (silly thing to say really when I am a member of a huge business networking group). I was feeling on top of the world until I received his call because I had been in the hairdressers having my hair fixed and sorting out the mess that my previous hairdressser (different salon) left me in.

What a loathsome creature he is.

I wasnt expecting a tirade of abuse I was expecting to be told the dates he has free in September (not that I had any intention of using them I hasten to add).
