first unacompanied drive was 5 miles to the local shopping centre and back about a week after i had passed my test. my oh was to scared of lettign me out in his baby before then!

the day i passed my test my oh drove us up to my parents. the next day, i drove the 10 miles to loch lommond shores, then later i drove to asda and then i drove all the way up to glasgow ikea on the motorway. now that was a baptisim of fire, oh doesnt know glasgow roads and i didnt pay attention when mum drove so i had to drive and find the way myself!

i second the sat nav. ive found it really useful especially when i drove from durham to glasgow on my own, its just reassuring as doing 70 on the motorway doesnt always give you time to read the signs if its busy and your concentrating on the road.
