My DH and I always take a fruit cake so that we can have our own afternoon tea and cake back in our hotel room after a day out. We normally have breakfast as part of our hotel, if it is not included then we head to a cafe / spoons or have a porridge pot and fruit and then have an evening meal out. I also pack a small box of assorted nuts and seeds for each of us. This means we don't have to buy lunch.I also pack our travel mugs - utilise free drink at Waitrose, with a W card. When we went on the IOW ferry I asked for hot water and a cup of tea. I then poured my own hot choc sachet into the cup. I had to pay £1 for the h/w but it was cheaper than buying a hot choc. On the way back I ordered two hot waters (which we were only charged a £1 for both) and I made my own hot choc and DH made his own tea - tea and milk came from the hotel room.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

When my Dad goes away he makes two days of sandwiches - the second day is cheese. It is okay in a cool bag. One car - he had a mini fridge in the boot of his car.He rents out cottages and his wife always takes a frozen lasagne / cottage pie type meal with them. They will eat out for half the nights away.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Whilst the fuel is cheaper I have been batch cooking. Today, I made four family size meat pies for DH. A beef bourguignon for six, two small rhubarb crumbles, slow cooked bbq pulled beef as well as roasted a dinner for us today. Left over chicken will be a salad for tomorrow and a stir fry for DH on Tuesday whilst I'm out.I also have my fruit in soak, I am making our two Christmas cakes tomorrow afternoon. Normally, I make then in February but wasn't going to have the oven on for four hours when the cost is at its highest.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

I always buy multi nets of onions (much cheaper than buying a single onion) I chop them up and freeze in a ziplock bag and use as required. I have 3 peppers in the fridge I didn't use this week I will chop and freeze them tommorrow to save wasting them - they will be dumped in the slow cooker at some point in the future.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"9

Thank you. I have both, so I'll try it in the smaller tin and if it doesn't fit transfer it to the bigger one!7

Yes we really enjoyed it. I thought it might be a bit dry but it was lovely and moist. DD has just said it's her favourite savoury loaf5
