Lots more Sneaky Ways to save the pennies

Just though of something that saves a bit more than pennies, and definitely saves a lot of hassle: I have several nice dresses, but I'm not too well-endowed on top, making the dresstops floppy, with a potential for flashing (). I have bought a really well-padded bra from Triumph at TKMaxx for about €10 and it fills the tops really well. Now I don't have to ask my Mum or go to a dressmaker's to have the tops taken in, potentially ruining the flow of the dress.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.591

Good Morning,
Just happened upon this thread, I haven't read back very far, so forgive me if this has been mentioned.....
I once visited a company who made generic washing powders and conditioners for supermarket own brands. The chap who showed us around was very informative.....
Always use the 1/2 minimum recommended dose, as it is always over estimated, to make you use more
Always dilute concentrated conditioner into a larger container, as you will always use more, if it is concentrated. (I have a 5 litre container I just refill). He also recommended diluting normal strength conditioner.
Cut your dishwasher tablets in half.
I make washing 'gloop' from grated soap and soda crystals. A big bucket lasts about a month for a family of 5, and costs about £1.
This must have saved us £100's over the years.
Happy New Year :j2 -
Only just started posting again after a long break. This used to be one of my favourite threads.
My favourite ways to save pennies are:-
1) always keep a carrier bag with me. 5p is still 5p!
2) a handful of porridge oats added to mince or bolognaise will make it go further
3) use a cookie cutter (or even a shot glass!) to make a HM version of the crackers cheese and ham packaged snacks for kids.
4) batch cook where you can and freeze portions for quick meals to save spending on takeaways.
5) always take a look through freebie sites or look for discounts before buying anything (my freebie slow cooker is only now on its last legs after 10 years and I got a large eyeshadow palette free when I bought a concealer).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J1 -
Hubby and I went to a quiz last night. I took one measure of sherry in a 1/4 wine bottle plus my water bottle. Hubby took two soft drinks from the fridge.
1 bag of crisps for everyone to share. All for less than the price of a drink at the bar.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

BIL bought me my vegetable seeds for Christmas. Lots of very cheap veg ( still need to pay for some fresh compost and the water) next summer and all year round. Fab present. Great way of saving money, Environmentally friendly and great for my mental well-being. A win-win.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
