Another useful way to freeze milk is in ice-cube trays, so that if you just want a bit of milk for a coffee, you don't have to defrost the whole bottle/carton.
Fab idea.
Also, if you want to freeze just a pint size, buy a couple of (reduced) pints of milk in the plastic containers, then wash and reuse.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I buy whole milk (blue top) in Mr M when it's reduced and dilute it 60/40 with water. I've never had anyone question it, friends come back for coffee etc and it's perfectly fine for cooking. I can usually pick up 4 pints for 20p just before closing, dilute and decant into 1pt or 2pt containers - also acquired when they're rtc - for the freezer.0

Hi i Will try &read back through this thread for tips.
ATM I am trying to get the kids to be more responsible about energy usage. They are always leaving lights and appliances on in their bedrooms. So now I have a jar and every time they leave something on, they have to put 20p in the jar. I have been doing it for 3 days later& it already has £1.40 in it.
I know it seems harsh but I don't know how else to make them understand the cost and be more responsible.
Also, We use soap nuts in our washing machine. We are a family of 5 & do a lot of washing. This way it costs approx £10 per year & it is good for sensitive skin and can be used for other cleaning purposes. I order online.🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

I put neat Stardrops into these foam making dispensers. I keep the pump in my bathroom and it saves me getting the big bottle from the kitchen. The foam/mousse it makes is great for pumping directly around the crevices of the taps. You use very little product.
Now, I bought mine a few years back when I was experimenting with hair products. I purchased from a UK website and they were very cheap....I can't seem to find that site but the ebay link shows the exact pump I have.Dave Ramsey Fan[/COLOR]0 -

If I'm making sandwiches I try and make whatever I'm using go as far as possible especially tuna/chicken/cheese. For tuna mayo, I dice up onion and also sometimes cucumber to make it go a bit further. For chicken, I dice it and add mayo or some sort of sauce (honey and mustard works well) and onion/celery/tomato/peppers and for cheese I do what Greggs do I mix grated cheese with a little mayo, onion and carrot (if I have it). Doing this means a tin of tuna etc goes a lot further!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Sounds good. How many sandwiches do you reckon you get out of this? For tuna, I add sweet corn and mayo, and I can get two or three sandwiches. But I never thought of the other fillings before.2016 MFW no. 47 £0/£3,000

Hi All
Just made a big sort of 'Sausage Roll'. I skinned a pound of pork sausages & mixed them with some made up Sage & Onion Stuffing (more meat than stuffing) Rolled out some shortcrust in a big oblong & put the mixture on top. I then added some sliced apples from my freezer but you could do a sliced eating apple if you dont have any. Wrapped the pastry over it & baked in the oven. Its nice hot with some gravy or cold with salad. I've done another one with a topping of some chilli chutney lurking at the back of the cupboard.
Its good 'cos you can make a big one and halve it & freeze for another day.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Hi, from one tin of tuna I can get 4 sandwiches. This means I can stretch the budget but not have boring sandwiches.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
