    Hi peeps, my day includes:

    1) Appreciating what a lovely day it is by spending more time in the garden
    2) Buying a second hand washing machine for £35 as opposed to my usual habit of going to buy a new on on interest free credit
    3) Will put clothes out to dry instead of using tumble dryer
    4) Putting more stuff on ebay including current faulty washing machine
    5) Have been up in loft and found hoards of stuff that can be ebayed...but am now planning to pitch at a car boot sale for the first time EVER (gulp!) next week hopefully
    6) Have roped sister into thinking the same way, so I'd say she's a convert too!
    7) Will plan today's dinner more effectively
    8) Am spreading the word amongst friends and family about being a DFW, and showing them the brill snowball calculator/this site!

    Happy days!

    Az

    Loving it Az!!! :T:j:T I am obsessed too! Snowballs rock.

    Josie - My water tank was on ALL night on Thursday!! :mad: Water's still hot though so now thinking I've definitely got my money's worth out of it.

    Also - have you ever used Stardrops instead of laundry powder?

    xx

    No I haven't! Didn't know you could! What does it end up smelling like? Do you put it in the drawer or where?? How exciting!

    Afternoon all, some productive days going on here! Gorgeously sunny here too :) (sorry Fay! Your day does sound perfect for batch cooking though!) :)

    So far on the moneysaving front I have...

    * read the electric meter
    * popped to local church market thing, and bought a top (50p), a new bottle of Body Shop body lotion (40p), and had tea and cake with a friend (grand total of £2.10 for two cups of tea, an onion and feta tart, and two cakes) :)
    * put bread on to first rise - a loaf for me, and one to take to contribute to friend's wedding buffet tonight :)
    * bought carpet samples to use to carpet attic stairs! 15p each, and rummaged through to get all the colourful ones :):) So that's the whole staircase, in 80% wool carpet, for £1.50 :) (still involves painting the bits that won't have carpet on, but still!)

    And I will...

    * finish bread
    * make popover scones for friend visiting tomorrow
    * make soup for friend visiting tonight
    * get flour and sugar ready for birthday tea celebrations on Tuesday :):)
    * list books on Amazon
    * do a bit of gardening
    * hang washing outside to dry

    Er, think that's about it! :) Best get cracking!

    Josie, you put it in the drawer and it apparently cleans your machine at the same time! This OS thread says to add essential oils...guess that means it's not nice without it (I've never tried it for a full wash like that though)...

    Hi girls! Beautiful day here, but I've been working, although it wasn't too bad,, very quiet on a Saturday so get alot done.

    So I'm back after a couple of rough days. My dd has moved back home, she's 16, and told me she's 15 weeks pregnant. Have been going through a bit of a loop with it all (I'm 34 if she decideds to keep it, how can I be a grandmother so young???) she's a very fagile mentally at the moment and is also a very difficult teenager/possibly person so its had a huge impact on us all her coming back. Have to be strong and keep everything together, and I need to patience of a saint... sorry I had to share and you ladies have all been a real source of comfort to me over the time I've been posting...

    Ok DFW things today
    • drove carefully to work (have worked out by driving slower/not driving short journeys I have eecked an extra 2 days worth of petrol out of my weekly budgeted amount! :j)
    • worked (not hard, but with what I've been through the last couple of days its a bloody miracle I went at all! Was there in body if not spirit!)
    • bought some wine glasses nd plants (mse because got from homebase 10% off over the weekend and glasses were a new line normally will be £2.99 but half price and then 10% off so each glass cost £1.34:j! Have such a weakness for glasses and always break them!)
    • going out with oh to ensure we have time together and do not drown in the drama that is my daughter, can't wait, will be taking only cash that I can afford to spend!
    Hope you guys are having a lovely weekend! Thanks for the stardrops tip La E!
