morning all another a/f night last night, will have to count them up for may think its 5 so far :) BB good luck with d/d it's good your getting that referral.. it's just until recently people with alcohol or drug problems weren't treated for any underling metal health problems they may have as the medical teams said that they couldn't make proper diagnosis until they had stopped self medicating (ie drinking),and drug and alcohol services wouldn't treat people until they had had their mental health issues dealt with!In other words people with a dual-diagnosis went round in circles getting beggar all help from anyone.. in the last few years they've realised that this is rubbish and look at the person as a whole rather than a list of separate problems hopefully you should find them helpful :)

Hello PIR / SOS & BHB!! welcome back! BHB hope your 2-pronged attack works.

Bad & good news for me last night - not at OH's was on my own so shouldn't really have had a drink at all (must get over this Saturday night thing!) but I did, but again I stopped before things got silly. Still got a long way to go - a bottle of wine a day still far from "good" even if it's a whole lot better than 2! Or a whole lot halfer than 2 iyswim.

So Sparkles - pls put me down for the 96 hour challenge *suppresses mild panic attack at thought* *suppresses worse panic attack at thought of sparkle's revenge if fail*

OH had an "interesting" take on afds - he proUdly announced he'd gone 3 days without a drink, whilst we were out - drinking - on a Wednesday evening. Hang on sez I, we were drinking on Sunday, so that's only 2 days, mon & tues. Oh no sez he - I didn't have anything after 6pm on Sunday & now (beer in hand) it's 7pm. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! words fail me.

So, if I get totally blitzed this afternoon but stop by 6pm, then wait until 6pm tomorrow & get totally blitzed again, I've had an afd?

    I DON'T THINK SO!.......

Needless to say, he didn't get the point.....

Prob won't be back here today as off to His house - trying a further exercise in restraint! And off for 4 afds next week. Thanks Sparkles.

Have a good rest of weekend everyone

    WBxx

    I'm up to this today

    [STRIKE]Finish off all cleaning
    Ironing[/STRIKE]
    Move holly bush
Dig up another old shrub stump
Empty old containers and tidy up
    Clear drain out
    [STRIKE]Make biscuits[/STRIKE]

Really pleased how much I've done today - break for a cuppa lunch and a biscuit or 2 then wash up and off into the garden for a few hours :D

I used social occasions as a big excuse to drink. There will always be birthdays, weddings, etc

I could find a reason most days to start drinking and then stopping usually occurred when I'd not quite passed out.

Went through 3 hours of various temptations when no-one would have known if I'd had one.

But I know that one would have been like flicking a switch. Everything was in place. TEMPTING ME. And yet...

    And yet....

...I remain. But it was closer than it had been for a long time.

    Glad I was ready.

take care everyone...it really can be tough out there sometimes.

:T well done sparkles, you are achieving so much. Is your garden open to the public? Sounds fab.

Another vote here for roasties (wb you are strange, how can you have a roast and gravy with a jacket???). Doing lamb for later with roast potatoes and roast parsnips and loads of other veg, can't wait.

Good to see you back BHB, you have been missed. Don't worry if you haven't much worth saying, it never stopped anyone else on here:D Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

Hope you find your phone jo. How long before you can give up the laundrette and buy yourself a new machine? You must have spent a fortune (not to say many happy hours) in there.

:hello: to lamarsi and SOS and fay and 69 chick and lurks and 115K and anyone else lurking.
