    Morning folks,

Hope you all had a good night's sleep or for those of you watching the elections that you did so with sober apathy rather than inebriated resignation.

I stayed AF but shunned the tiresome election coverage in favour of a dark film called Brick on Film4, really good film, I highly recommend it.

I'm really starting to feel the benefits of staying AF over the last three days. I know 3 days isn't much in the grand scheme of things but as I've mentioned before, it is probably the first time I have been this way for a good 5 or 6 years if not more. I'm much more alert, my confidence is booming, I've slept like a log for the last three nights but most of all, I'm actually very calm and serene.

It's been a hell of a turnaround from last Sunday when following my shift at work, I met up with my friends for what was rapidly turning into a binge, then bumped into my ex girlfriend and all of a sudden a low of gargantuan proprotions fell upon me. Ordinarily, my modus operandi would have been to block this out by drinking until I had numbed everything but I opted not to this time, and with huge thanks to the inspiration and support you guys here have given me, I've got through what on paper looked like an awful week with a smile on my face and resolve to carry on waking up feeling as I did this morning.

so thanks again folks, have a great friday!

Totally sober last night watching it until 11.30pm then up at 5.30am to continue watching and now back from my haircut and the dog's (at separate places!) and back watching the analysis

I've never used alcohol to celebrate an election victory or loss :D

I'm enjoying it - and well done to all the presenters for keeping going!

I woke up fearing I'd see David Cameron jumping for joy but as it turned out, there was little difference to what I'd watched up until midnight.

It's quite intriguing now to see who will do a deal with whom.

I've got a killer headache from out of nowhere and am tempted to go home early for a lie down.

something that would probably result in my having a 4th AF day.

But to be honest, seeing as I'll be working on sunday morning, tonight is the only night I can go out with my friends and I really would quite like to have a beer or two.

    we'll see how I feel at 4pm.

Disappointed here as tactical voting didn't work and DC managed to scrape another seat

We got moved out of the city to a semi-rural, very 'county' constituency, although we still live in the same house!!

Roll on a referendum on PR!

    Lurks - brilliant!

I come from a country where there are several parties in the government and where the voting systems makes it possible for the smaller parties to get in. Hence I am following this situation with great interest.

I am having a bit of deja vu from last Friday. Got up early to make a round of letters to DCAs and now in a rush to pack to set off to BF's. He is taking me out for dinner tonight :smileyhea as potential MIL has promised to baby sit.

If there are any Fri-Sun challenges going then I can be added as default - TA!!

It seems there were a lot of boundary changes this time maman. I'm not sure why we need a referendum on elecoral reform. Why don't they just get on with it and change it.

Marru, most european countries have some form of proportional rep. Why the UK doesn't is beyond me but I assume it's a quirk of history.
are you from a scandanavian country at all?

Lol. I'm glad you two agree with me Maman and Lurkio.:rotfl:

I am decidedly non-AF today. I am planning an AF day on Sunday night as I have another counselling appointment on Monday morning. (I don't want to only get 5 AF days this month, that was shocking!)
