    Morning all

    Feeling a bit brighter today. Mum always managed to talk sense to me so I'm looking on the bright side of things.

    Contemplating starting my own cleaning business. Only an idea at the momen as not sure on the logistics of it all. But its an option. Needs a lot of thinking about though.

    Jo - I do think this is the danger of Facebook. I look at old school friends and wonder what they think when they look at my stuff. I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of me, my family or my life...but am very concious there are a lot of old school friends who have done "well" for themselves. But, as I tell my OH, you just don't know what goes on behind the scenes? Who's to say THEY aren't in debt...or are unhappy? At the end of the day I love my family and wouldn't change them for the world. Everything else is so much less important. God, theres you getting nostalgic and me getting deep!:rotfl::T

    Piglet off to nursery today so I'm going to come home after and do nothing until its time for work!:rotfl:Foot was killing by last night so think it deserves a rest today.

    Hope everyone is ok today

    Miss P

    Morning!

    Strangely, I am actually quite happy that the weather has changed today, I've missed cycling into work in the rain. It's like having a second shower in the morning! :)

    I can relate to this, simply because i am in Scotland and more used to rain than this heat....

    It's strange, I'm almost wishing I could go and sit next to a roaring fire this evening!

    Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents.

    Jo and Miss Piggy, Facebook is the bane of my Life!

    If it's any consolation, a lot of people on Facebook, probably 'big up' themselves quite a bit. I deactivated my account months back, and I only ever had about 15 friends!

    There are people on there with 1,000+ friends. It's madness.

    It's great to see so many people, who I used to know, seeming happy, but I get a bit jealous too, when I look at what a mess my Life has been these past 10 years.

    Last night, I was on the computer until - well, about 4 this morning, looking mainly at Facebook..

    Was looking at some old mutual friends of my ex - Girlfriend and I, from years back, and saw how happy my ex - Girlfriend and all of them looked. It did sting *quite a bit*.

    I'm sober, and have been now for a month and 4 days. This I'm proud of, but by God my Life is empty.

    I need a job, and it got to me, what the Jobcentreplus so - called 'Pathways to Work' advisor said last week - that I'm not ready to go back to work, for at least a year..

    That is rubbish. I want to work, I need to work, and I'm ready to work.

    I haven't been out all day, and I don't want to go back to hiding away.

    The boss of the taxi company never got back to me, after I'd called them twice, and left my number.

    Another company is advertising online. They help pay for the license etc, so I'm about to call the manager there now.

    Cheers,

    Sim x

    Congrats guys, on your Sober Smilies! :)

    I've just got off the phone, after having a chat with the boss of the taxi company.

    Went well. Was honest from the outset, about my past criminal record :-/

    Emphasised the positive - that the last time I was in trouble, was March 2004 (Caution - Drunk and Disorderly), and the chap was fine about it, as he said "Well, you haven't been in trouble for the last 6 years then".

    It was cringeworthy, telling him about my past, when he asked if I'd had any convictions..

    1997 - In charge of a vehicle / Excess Alcohol;

    1998 - Common Assault;

    2000 - Common Assault;

    2004 - Caution - Drunk and Disorderly;

    :-/

    The guy sounded non - plussed!

    Anyway, I have an interview for 11am on Friday.

    He explained it'd just be a chat about driving, and he'll be able to give me an application pack (for the badge, which takes 6 - 8 weeks to come through) on Friday. Just asked me to take my driving license with me.

    Feels good, but I'm a bit worried about explaining my mad life these past few years, as he's bound to ask what I've been doing.

    Am trying to move on, but my past keeps holding me back.

    Cheers,

    Sim x
