    That's a bummer Miss P about work.

Here I am AF although the bells were ringing earlier as the kids have been a bit of a pain today.
For me also it's a good job I'm doing the challenge or I'd be sloshed, so thats me declaring 1 AF day please DB.

    Evening All,

I have been having an absolutely crap time of late and don't like to do moany posts which is why I've not been around.

I so nearly buckled last week, but I knew it was oblivion I wanted not a drink. I wasn't craving a glass of wine I was craving the numbness given by a bottle or two gulped down without touching the sides.

Last night I had 4 beers watching the footie.....0% Cobra Beer I hasten to add. First time I've drunk any kind of 'substitute'. I was tempted by a bottle of 0.5% cider.....I just craved that cold 'drink' to go with the footie.

Be interesting what fellow giver uppers views on 0.5% cider would be.

Had an interesting conversation with a 15 year old a few weeks back. Asked her the magic wand question, i.e If I could wave a magic wand for you what would be different. Her reply was 'For my Mum to stop drinking and having all these different !!!!!! in our lives' (Mum is shall we say...popular....with the local menfolk)

I am becoming like a reformed smoker...You know the kind...can't be near smokers, wafts the smoke away from 30 metres even though they used to smoke 40 a day!

I'm similar now with booze. Hate drunk people with a passion. Strange to get used to when I've probably spent 20plus years being one and around them.

A line from a book rings so loud in my head 'You never know how sick you were until you get better' SO SO True.

8 and a half month sober!!

I wouldn't go near it with a bargepole

Checking in to report today was Day 5 for me please December Baby. Thanks for scoring!

I was looking for AF beer in the off licence but could't see any so went with diet coke and jamaican ginger beer. Not sure about 0.5% cider, love proper cider but haven't tried a low alcohol one.

Miss P so sorry to hear your news and well done to all the challengers who stayed strong, especially Jo.

I was planning to be AF tomorrow and Wednesday but not sure about Thursday so decided not to let you challengers down. :p

    Sleep well everyone.

Morning. Feeling great today. Don't know wether it is the AF yesterday or the fact that the hot weather broke, we had an almighty storm and the thermometer plunged. Nice and cool now so I slept very well. Have a good day

Tired, so very very tired th_1219_tired_smiley_drinking_coffe-1.gif

Hope you are both feeling better today Sparkles & Miss P

Miss P, aww to piglets uniform, I remember when I first got DD1's school uniform when she went off to 'big' school when she was 11......she's left there now   where did the time go?

I think I'm getting a bit nostalgic because a few people from my school days have contacted me via facebook recently and you see all the stuff they've done with their lives and you think, where did mine go? I know I have had 3 kids and since leaving school have had 4 really good jobs and have now 'somehow' managed to score my dream job (well not 'actually' my dream job, but the top end of the only one I'm qualifed to do :p) but I don't actually remember most of it. It's like it's all been a haze, all of it. Wow I was in quite a chipper mood when I got up, now I'm quite depressed :rotfl:

GC, thanks for summing that feeling up, it's definitely me.

Blimey, look at the time, I'm off to assemble the BLCC (bacon, lettuce, cheese & cucumber) baguettes. I have gas and have managed to bake the baguettes and grill the bacon this morning, smells blummin lovely in this house  Doubt very much my lunch will last till lunchtime :rotfl:
