Oh and before I go, I am really troubled by all of todays events
Being nice costs nothing, I once had a fantastic boss, I used to think the world of her. She taught me many things.
I always remember when she had to let someone go, I was in on the meeting and after the person had left. She turned around and said: if you have to do something then always do it the best way you can, and in the kindest way.
There is alot of truth in that ................................
In the end kindness cost nothing, and also anger achieves nothing.
God bless

I had a nice cool shower and then got myself all hot and uncomfortable again by blow drying my hair.
I had to dry it though because if I go to bed with damp hair I wake up with my hair looking really weird and kinky.

Hmm. I only posted on here for the first time the other day, in support of HB, who was upset on a thread we both post on - this seemed to be her "home" on mse, though I know her through a few diaries on the dfw board. And it seems that I'm supposed to be dragged into an argument.treepotato1 wrote: »How come you are not available for me to add to my ignore list? IOW - you only exist
to benefit HB then you disappear...

Erm, I do. Don't I?graemecarter wrote: »One of the passages: Criteria of Alcohol Dependence
Three or more of the following have been experienced exhibited at sometime during
the previous year:
(a) Evidence of tolerance, such that increased dosages are required in order to
achieve effects originally produced by lower dosages. Yes for me
(b) A physiological withdrawal state when substance use has ceased or been reduced
as evidenced by: characteristic substance withdrawal syndrome, or use of the
same (or a closely related) substance with the intention of relieving or avoiding
withdrawal symptoms. Well, I would get worse panic attacks when hungover....
(c) Difficulties in controlling substance-taking behaviour in terms of its onset,
termination, or levels of use Levels of use - I found it impossible to moderate when I started
(d) Progressive neglect of alternative pleasures or interests because of substance
use, increased amount of time necessary to obtain or take the substance or to
recover from its effects. Yes, other things I enjoyed fell by the wayside
(e) Persisting with substance use despite clear evidence of overtly harmful
consequences, such as harm to the liver through excessive drinking, depressive
mood states consequent to heavy substance use, or drug-related impairment of
cognitive functioning. Poor decision making, and depressed moods
I never thought I was alcohol dependent until I stopped drinking
This is amazing. I stopped when (b) started happening (the others were already happening), many years ago now, and I'm okay around alcohol now, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have had the confidence, or the self awareness, to post on a thread like this (of course, there were no computers back then). I'm a counsellor now, and used to sitting back and examining my own emotions, because that gives me an inkling of whether my own buttons are being activated, on purpose or by accident.
And actually, they're not. There's a bit of an adrenaline buzz, that much is true, when somebody sends me a pm with the title it had - ("Idiocy") obviously, I'm meant to be under attack, and it does feel a little bit that way. What I'm really feeling, though, is sad for the person thats doing this, flailing out into the dark, hoping to hit something. Anything. Treepotato, I hope you can find some peace.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Please don't be, Budgie :grouphug:
Thanks for the dodgy hug mate
I know life is not always good for many of us, but in the end to have such personal attacks on people is just not on.
Budgie likes to keep the peace, but on the other hand Budgie hates to see anyone upset unnecessarily.
On a brighter note Budgie sold a house today, the guy lives in his excouncil house, (nothing wrong with that, I hasten to add) But 6 weeks ago he was part of a three man syncicate who got 6 numbers on the lotto
He now has a personal banker and a Barclays Wealth account
He is a lovely guy too
So good things do happen to nice people, sometimes :A
