Still waiting to get off the mark this month :o...... hopefully today.

Me too:o I was going to be AF Mon-Thurs this week but decided I might drink with the semis. I am so delighted with myself, another moderate weekend. Stayed with friends where previously would have been legless. Drank between 3pm and after midnight just a bottle and plenty of water in between. Constant vigilance though as I'm not going back to a bottle a day.
You're welcome, i was being nosy as i love kitchens.....

Only have a small one in my rented flat which is fine, but i love going to the likes of B&Q etc and looking at all the kitchens ( saddo! )

That's no different to drooling over tellys or Aston Martins - just cheaper and more practical!

    Have a good afternoon all.

I would like to think that if i go out i will drink moderately, will devise a plan if and when it happens.....

but for now will just stick to no drinking on my own at home, and cross that bridge when i come to it

    Have a great day!

    Afternoon folks,

Hope everyone is ok and had a good weekend.

I had a great weekend, on saturday I was up at 8am and off to my sister's new flat to sort out the front garden which was a mess of weeds, bushes, ivy and other thorny shurbs. It took me a good 5 hours solid graft but the results were amazing, it's an actual garden now! then I sat in the sun reading the paper and almost forgot that there was the St.Paul's carnival down the road. I eventually got there for about 5pm and there were loads and loads of people there. I was chuffed that I'd got there later and sober though because in years gone by, I used to be there at the very start and by 3pm I'd be well on my way towards getting blottoed. Not this time though, I had a few ciders and ate some delicious curry goat then went home to watch the Spain match and then on to a house party nearby where I only stayed for an hour because everyone there was wasted and I couldn't be bothered playing catch up not to mention I was knackered from all the gardening earlier in the day.

Spent yesterday mostly in bed after cooking a huge fry-up for some friends, the weather wasmn't exactly ideal so I watched the tennis, did some chores, made a fish pie for dinner and was asleep by 11pm.

    Hi BP,

Have you started your new job yet?

No, I start towards the end of the month when their current chef leaves.

I'm a bit concerned though because the advert said they needed someone urgently who could start as soon as possible and now they're saying I'll probably start at the end of July but they would ring me to confirm exactly when..

    hmm.

Don't worry things could just have changed since the advert was placed, maybe the chef is moving on somewhere else and there's just a delay.

I am sure it will be fine.

Just wait to hear from them and enjoy life meantime

    aye, let's hope so.

I was quite annoyed with my housemate yesterday because she had gone out and left her dog at the house and locked in her room, the poor beast was barking and howling all evening so I texted her and rang but got no reply. She finally got back at about 9:30pm and let the poor dog out into the garden. she apologised for the noise and said she lost track of time.

That's a pathetic excuse, really, so I just told her that I was worried about the dog and in future, if she's going out and doesn't want to bring the dog then she should at the very least get someone to look after her while she's out.

In other news, I have been listening to this song all weekend:

Warning: It's quite a haunting song which may induce high levels of emotionalisationosity, if you catch my drift.

Aw that's a shame for the wee dog, and you too, good for you telling her that.

I would hate to be in that position.

Was she ok about you saying?
