DB, I've had various piercings including my nose, though I'm too old now and taken them all out :D

Go to the chemists tomorrow and buy some saline solution, its essentially water but the one in drips so totally free from chemicals, get some cotton buds, the ones on a stick and get him to dip the bud in the water and clean around the piercing whilst turning it gently, same as you would for an ear piercing to stop the scab from getting it stuck, do this twice a day. Don't let him be tempted to try and remove ring for at least 6 weeks so that it heals properly inside.

I hope he got it done at a reputable place with a needle and not a gun?

    Good luck lol X

Thanks for the advice Jo. I will go to the chemist tomorrow. He had it done in the city centre so I'm hoping it was done properly. I'll ask if it was a needle or a gun but scared it will be the wrong answer!
Well done on AFness tonight and hope you are not up to the loo too often!

    Db x ((()))

Last night at work for me and payday tomorrow :j

Hmmmmm you be safe now, ya hear :naughty:

Pay day for me tomorrow, I must not spend, I must not spend :undecided
I'll ask if it was a needle or a gun but scared it will be the wrong answer!

Oooh didn't want to scare you DB, I'm sure it'll be fine as he's come home with a ring. You find that some jewellers decide to branch out and do piercings other than the standard ear lobe and they use their piercing gun which can cause problems. Even the top of the ear should be pierced by a needle the gun should only be used for the lobe. The force of the gun going into the back bit of the earring can draw the whole thing through the piercing iykwim. Piercings swell and so the only safe place to use a gun and butterfly clips is the ear lobe, everywhere else on the body needs enough room to swell as it heals. So don't panic, as he has a ring there is plenty of room for it to heal :) You will find information on Metalmorphorsis' website re aftercare, this is the ONLY place I would have a piercing done, slightly more expensive but it's like a hospital inside, everyone wears overalls, gloves and face masks!

Morning all, in a bit of a rush this morning as I'm going to dash out and get some petrol and money out the cash point BEFORE getting the kids ready for the childminders

    So.....really....must go!!!

    ETA: actually got a decent'ish night's sleep :j

20 AFDs for me. Pucker up Miss P! :D

Should have been 21 but I accidentally drank a bit of a friend's drink (again!). I mean, who on earth knew about alcoholic ginger ale, !!!!!!?? Perhaps I should stop quaffing other people's drinks and buy my own :o. Anyway, didn't think I'd be let off twice so 20 it is. Which as it happens is my target. hoo rah!

I'd say that is 21 days then :T

If you were not honestly not aware that you were drinking an alcoholic beverage, then I'd say that is an AF day.
If you weren't sure but drank it anyway, or knew it was alcoholic but then drank more, then it's shakier ground....:rotfl:

    Morning everyone!

    How is everyone today?

Sparkles....thats one day done on the challenge for me please:)

Happyshopper - have put you down for 21 - as GC says, a gulp of someone elses done mistakenly doesn't count!:D And well done on hitting target!

Nearly the end of the month and I think everyone has done brilliantly! Theres a lot of jumpies on that list!

I have my Mum over again today. The plans on how to get Piglet to nursery today all fell apart so Mum said she will take him by taxi. Also, she's concerned how I will manage on my own. I was concerned too - very difficult to do stuff with one foot off the floor!:( Thank god for my Mum though...I owe her big time!

Decemberbaby - poor you with Ds's nose piercing! Jo's given you some great advice there. Hope its all ok!

Well, off to mooch about the internet to find something for Piglet to wear to Nans do. I'm spending a fortune being stuck at home!!

    Miss P
    xx
