I'm wondering if me hanging out here is focusing my mind more on alcohol than it would normally be.......I come here first thing in the morning......and as soon as i start reading...I fancy a drink!!! Does anyone else feel that? About themselves...not me...lol

I have the forgetting disease. Thus my mind tells me that I can drink again safely, that the problems I got into won't arise again, that I forget the pain it caused others.
    I forget the bad stuff
I forget the 'I am never drinking again', and 'I am not drinking more than 5 drinks in one sitting' etc

I NEED to be reminded about the negative consequences regularly so that I know full well what it will be like if I drink again.
If I were to pick up a drink, my past would become my future

    Morning all!

:hello:Hello Jo! Nice to see you slinking back in!;) Yes we had a lovely time yesterday...although I now have some rather burnt bits:o

Marru - forgot to say, no didn't spot you in Bath:rotfl:. Mind you, wasn't it busy!? We had Piglet with us so only made it a quick visit. OH and I are planning on going back down one day when Piglet with my Mum.

Gorgeous day here so going to try and get as much washing done as I can...but first I think I need a :coffee:.

Forgot to say, yesterday we all went into one of the pub gardens for lunch (they had a stall doing hand battered fish and triple cooked chips in a newspaper cone :D yum yum!!!) and Dad went to get the drinks. He asked me what I wanted and I asked for a soda and lime..but have to admit to gazingly longingly at Dads pint of local ale! (and I don't even LIKE ale!!!!). Bizarre....

    Great post, thanks Graeme!

In the past, I've often kidded myself, into thinking I could drink 'in moderation' or 'socially'..

It's funny that I was 9 times out of 10, drinking on my own though! :o

    How are you Graeme?

Hope you've had a relaxing weekend.

I woke up in a great mood, and had breakfast with my Girlfriend. Was lovely.

BUT, having just checked my online banking, I feel quite low now :(

Feel a bit flat, due to the pretty rubbish financial situation / debts, even though I've already started tackling it, with the help of National Debtline / seeing CAB this Wednesday.

I keep cringing, at the money I've wasted, and the debt I'm now in, due to having wasted so much money on booze in recent times. Feels awful.

I was looking at going back to the homeless charity today, to get back into the voluntary work.

However, I don't feel ready yet, as I don't think the environment would do me good, as I don't feel 'out of the woods' yet!

    Sim.

Being sober, and being 'normal' really is difficult :-/

While having a clear head feels great, I struggle with facing everything - all the fall out of my recent benders, is a nightmare to deal with..
