  • Hi Everyone

Not been on the thread for ages. I've been doing very well AF-wise, only drinking moderately at weekends. But then I completely overdid it last night and I'm really annoyed with myself. Oh well, onwards and upwards, as they say.

    Beautiful day here anyway

    Bi for now

Morning all, a very lazy Pen hasn't been up very long :o

Last night was brilliant - probably much helped by my change of mindset whilst I was getting ready (thanks YM). We ended up at an early morning party too and I managed to not get completely plastered. Kept to the plan of alternating AF and drink which worked well but I was still ill this morning. Guess my body is trying to tell me something.

Got loads of running around now to squeeze in, plus some Dads to spoil.

I am aiming for AF today.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

I'm wondering if me hanging out here is focusing my mind more on alcohol than it would normally be.......I come here first thing in the morning......and as soon as i start reading...fancy a drink!!! Does anyone else feel that? About themselves...not me...lol

I don't find I want a drink when on here but I can be quite clever at ignoring the thread when I'm making excuses to drink.

I have sometimes found I need to be away from here as it can focus my mind on drink. Overall tho, it really helps me :)

Got to love you & leave you all for awhile, chaps

    Be good ;)

I find the thread helps me a lot, especially reading inspiring stories from people that no longer drink...:T

I too have previously been awol from here when my drinking increased after christmas, it was one of those, 'I don't even want to think about how many af days I am having, or not having' and this thread makes me confront that...

Glad you had a good night penelope good old YM for helping you to change your mindset :A

Hi SOS (formally PIR) nice to see you posting, hope you stick around x

TP1 Hope you don't go anywhere :) but if you feel that it isn't helping you must do what you feel is right and helpful for you xxx

Been very poor with my Fathers day stuff, ordered my own dad a card from Moonpig on Friday  had to have it special delivery to get there yesterday (which apparantly got him out of bed :o) will get him something when I am down there in a couple of weeks, my Brother and Sister are both with him today with their families having a barbecue so at least he isn't being completely ignored! (My Mum has been on holiday with her sisters all week and doesn't get home till early hours of tomorrow morning)

My poor dh has just made do with homemade cards from Nursery/School and a day out with the kids + a rushed pint in the pub on the way back as the kids were their usual unruly selves so we had to get out of there fairly quickly!! he is even cooking his own tea!!! (he does most of the cooking)...he seems pretty upbeat about it all though bless :D

I've been rubbish at this for a while, but will be back on Tuesday. Great to read stories. Completely agree with penelopedee (though this thread isn't my usual resource for not-drinking!)
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

    Afternoon all!

Tired in the piggy house! Had a lovely time at the town festival at my Mums. Piglet had a fab time and was spoiled rotton by my Mum and Dad. Dad even spoilt me...paid for me to have an airbrush tattoo!!:T:rotfl:

OH just rushed off to HIS Dads. I don't have to go anymore obviously (due to them hating me and me not liking them much!:rotfl:) so now get to put feet up till they get back! Bliss....

Yes and no. Being on here makes me THINK about drink more, but also makes me think about how, when and why I'm drinking. I find the times I go AWOL I go really off the rails and find myself slinking back in at some point!
