Despite being sober for over five years I got home last night from a very stressfull day in my voluntary role. I would have loved to have kicked my shoes off and sat in the sun with a very large G&T with ice and lemon.
My sane head knows that the first one will lead to another and another and then me going out to buy another bottle.

Afternoon everyone
TP - hope you get on ok at the doctors.
Fay - feeling any better with that nasty cold??
Been and did my Mrs Mop job this morning. Had to do it twice this week, Monday and today. I was only halfway through it Monday when I had to come home poorly, but my sister-in-law has paid me for both days, bless her!:T She's a star.
My friend text me today full of encouragement for staying AF. I'm very grateful, I must say, for fantastic friends and family.:)

See, this is me. I would dearly LOVE to be one of those people that relax after work with a single glass of wine. But I'm not. Just getting roundto accepting that.:o
TP - Living Sober is well worth a look.

I was like that too MissP, once a bottle was open there wasn't a chance in hell of me not finishing it.
recently I've bought just one of those small bottles they sell in most supermarkets which equates pretty much to a third of a full bottle so two glasses and the knowledge that there isn't as much wine in them makes them last longer, sometimes even longer than a full 75cl bottle would.jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -
having said that, it's probably best to just hit the nail on the head and not buy any wine at all, regardless of the size of its container.
I'm seriously considering hiding in my room tonight and not going out at all, my head's a bit all over the place from last night and I'm quite tired after waking up at 5am with a hayfever attack.jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -

I used to drink these on flights and would line them up with the excuse that I was tasting the quality of the airlines wine cellar.
Would then go onto a tasting of their spirit collection.Living Sober.

Hi all,
I really enjoy this thread and wished there was a whole board!
I have been alcohol, drugs and benzodiazapine medications free since January 4th 2010 and do feel good, free of the shame, guilt and remorse and life and me are slowly getting better.
I still feel I act as a dry drunk at times. I am very lazy and seem to do the minimum all the time. I am definetly using food to reward myself and am getting up to 12 stone!
Life without alcohol is manageable to anyone who is struggling. I am living proof that AA works. Miracles do happen in those rooms!
Sober vibes to you all if you want
