  • Hi all,

 to Fay and Marru and hope you feel better soon.

AF number 3 for me Miss P and thanks for scoring.
I'm sure your decision is the right one for you and I hope it goes well.

Been lurking a lot but not posting as not been doing well on the AF front and not been really trying very hard. Giving in to the bells.
Tonight's AF ness is due to DS1 going out into town tonight and
intending to come home at 3am when clubs shut. So a late night for me and on standby in case I need to drive. Then up at 7:30 for work!

Well done to all those who are making real efforts and doing so well.

  • You have summed up my life:T

I used to thinking drinking was the problem.
    And other people.

However, all along it was me that was the problem.
I can change me - I cannot change other people.

However much I wanted to change, nothing happened until I really started doing something radical about changing myself.

Thanks for your comments they are all good, but i am wondering if the alcohol is in the bottle, and the ism is in me, if i fix myself surely it follows that i would be able to drink again?

I am off it again for now:D

was doing really well until last night when i had an issue with someone and went for the quarter bottle in the fridge..... if it hadn't been there anyway (left over from Friday) i would've been OK as it was too late to go out anywhere to get it, but hey ho at least it's gone now i don't get it unless i am planning on drinking and i am not planning on drinking!

    Regards

I have a two fold illness. It is a mental obsession with alcohol that causes me to pick up a drink, and also a physical reaction that makes we want to continue drinking when I have started.
You could be different, but my alcoholism doesn't respond well to any booze in my system. Ever

Morning all, after 4 phonecalls it looks like I have finally managed to withdraw the free scratchie bingo money at long last

Not going through that process again so am closing the account down and saying goodbye to that way of accruing money for now (18mths to make £100)

Oh well I hope it comes through quickly enough to spend on holiday, looks like the new boots will have to wait a bit longer and it can go towards the kennel costs instead

Have a good day everyone, I am excited - I'm off for 2 weeks after today, finishing early to sort the house out a bit and tidy up! Can't wait

    Morning folks !

Hurrah, it's friday and it's payday too. I must be careful not to go mad and overspend this weekend. I'll probably manage to dodge the after-work drinking because I got in really early this morning so I can leave at 4. I'll go home and go for a bike ride, might play tennis with a mate if he's about.

I was good yesterday and stayed AF until after dinner when I made the dubious decision of speaking to my ex girlfriend who invited me round to her house so that we could have a catch up. I hadn't seen her new flat so I went along, it was a bit awkward at first because we haven't spoken in a long time but we went out for a drink and that broke the ice. we only stayed out for a couple and then I said I had to go home so we made our separate ways back home. But we did kiss and that was a bit weird.

I must try not to dwell on it though. easier said than done..

    silly me. :(
    jusqu'ici tout va bien
