Anyways better go now, its F1 soon, cue Eselt here
I am off to Torquay in July, if anyone is about?
I'm here Budgie!!! Still buzzing from watching our glorious boys romp home (poor old Shuey though-dreadful race). Apparently theres another important sporting event going on at the moment, but nothing to touch F1 eh? Hope the race lifted your spirits a bit- get well soon.
Blimey, such a lot to catch up on, good to see so many new people here and lots of familiar old friends.
YM- so upset to hear about your rabbit- when mine died when I was 6 my mum bought me a colourful paperweight and told me the rabbits spirit had been captured in it- freaked me out for years!!!
Fay- good luck with the move, hope you find yourself settled and where you want to be.
Miss P- hope the household is fit and healthy again. Re: tattoos- a cautionary tale. I thought it was really cool in my teens and early 20's to spend all my spare cash on tattoo's- arms, shoulders, belly etc (in fact I have a half sleeve of 115k's avatar on my right arm!!!). However, now in my 40's they look ridiculous, faded and I can't afford to have them removed. They have meant I have had to wear long sleeved shirts the whole time at work, they mean if I wear a swimming costume people think I'm straight off the Jeremy Kyle show, potential boyfriends have been put off, and when I got pregnant my lovely belly tattoo stretched out of all recognition and now has silver stretch marks running through it-in short....yuk, yuk and triple yuk. Plus if DD has a tattoo now it will still be healing and scabbed over for her prom-not a good look?
40SM- ouch, take care with that ankle, sounds very painful.
Marru- good luck for tomorrow.
Jo- hope things went as well as they could today, hope your mum isn't too distressed about your godmothers condition, and you managed to talk to your godfather about support. I think a lot of older people caring for spouses with dementia often think asking for help is admitting that they can't cope and they feel guilty and ashamed that they need more support- its a really tricky one- hope you are OK, hugs to you, your family and your godparents.
Good to see some healthy debate on here at the moment, good luck everyone with getting where you want to be, this is a difficult road to be sure.
Am I the only one who thinks GC, Bis and RA should write a self help book on alcohol-there words of wisdom have been invaluable to me over the last few years, without them and others on this thread I would never have thought I could ever be sober and life would be one big downward spiral for me, but this thread has taught me that it doesn't have to be like that and with that knowledge a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders.0 -
Hiya Guys,
Hope you're all well.
I can't sleep a wink, as I'm so worried about what I did last week.
Fell off the wagon again, and took out a £500 loan with The Money Shop.
I have 30 days to repay it, and I won't be able to.
This is tough to admit, but I lied on the application in The Money Shop, and said that I was working when I haven't done so since losing my job last November.
Am seeing my Counsellor at the Substance Misuse Centre later today.
I've had enough of booze, and all the grief it's caused. The debt. The health problems.
Feel so angry with myself, for last week. For committing, what was essentially fraud.
Am now also worried about the charges, from The Money Shop, as well as from A&L bank next month.
Am considering cancelling my Visa Debit / Cheque Guarantee card / Cheque book, as a damage limitation measure, and reordering new ones.
I will then contact The Money Shop via CAB, next week to arrange a repayment plan.
Do any of you know, if the Money Shop would still be able to bank / cash the old cheques, even if I cancel my old cheque book.
Am so annoyed I was so stupid, and all down to booze.

ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Ermmmmm......yes :undecided, it's okay though, that phase only lasts for about 4 years.....maybe 6 *rolleyes*
Good luck today Marru
Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday, it was awfulI've not seen her for 3 years and she looked so different, from somebody that was full of life and a sparkle in the eye to someone that was lifeless. She sat with a dalmation puppy soft toy on her lap and insisted it was a real cat that had just walked in. She was a different person. I tried to make my Godfather understand that it's just like getting a short term memory, there isn't anything physically wrong with her. I've persuaded him (hopefully) to talk to the practice nurse when they go to the surgery this week, as she refuses to go to a doctor or get help.
Anyway, although it was sad, she was in her own little world, I think I'd prepped my mum for a lot worse so she wasn't so bad when we left. Although she's not one to show her emotions so I don't know what she was like when I dropped her off and she was by herself.
Busy day ahead, not really looking forward to it, I'm under an alcohol haze and don't feel up to doing anything much. I need to get back on the wagon.
Oh !!!!!!, look at the time  I'm late, must dash
