I am currently going through a lot of emotions as our business that my husband works in is closing which means we are having to negotiate with the bank for the business debt to become a personal debt
also dh is looking for a new job (down south) so we are going to be relocating back to where I am from hopefully but I have 3 children to sort out a school for (as well as letting ds school know that he will not be back in September and my twins will not be taking their places after all and I absolutely love that school
, a house that needs working on and loads of 'stuff' to sort out for storing etc. and all with no money
which is why I know that normally I would be throwing the wine down my neck to 'blot it all out' but am doing my best to take a different approach....
Good Luck with all thatWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Sounds like good advice to me :T:T:TWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Morning all, what a shame about the game last night, dh just been moaning that if we win the next 2 games and so do USA but with better goal difference we will end up not winning the group and if we are 2nd we will probably play Germany !! This is all far too technical for me..
Shaggy :rotfl:at your nightmare, shame it wasn't just a dream !!
Hope everyone is well, went out for my run this morning and it was hard today, but fell good for going, about to have kippers for breakfast (first time for everything)...

Well done! I am very very jealous now, if I had started the 5k thing when I said I was going to, we would have been about 5 or 6 weeks in at the same(ish) stage, instead I'm still at couch stage *rolleyes*
I did, however, take the kids over the woods yesterday to watch the fly past. We went right up the top of a huge hill then they dragged me back down again to the other side of the woods to the park bit, so I did do about 30 minues of intense walking yesterday as they were running everywhere and I had to keep up :rotfl: so maybe I'll go out again tomorrow or Tuesday.about to have kippers for breakfast
SO VERY JEALOUS  (even more jealous than the running thing)

Not looking forward to today, taking my mum round to see her best friend later, my god mother. They have known each other for over 60 years. We thought over the past couple of years that my godmum was going a bit deaf but it's now become obvious that she's suffering from dementia
They live in deepest darkest Essex and my mum was going to jump on a train down there but I said that I wanted to drive her (didn't tell her this bit, but I'm worried about her getting on the train back by herself, I think she's going to be vey upset). I don't think my mum quite realises how bad this is going to be, I'd almost wish that she didn't go to see her iykwim *confused*
Anyway, I want to see my Godfather, he's really the one suffering, told me on the phone last week that life is awful, they go shopping twice a week and spend the rest of the week in the armchair in front of the TV dozing, she doesn't remember one hour to the next.
I tried to explain to him and my mum that she's not in pain, she's probably quite happy in her world, it's just frustrating for those around her. When I rung yesterday we spoke for a good 5 minutes about all manner of different stuff, then I asked to speak to my Godfather and I heard her say to him there's a call for you, he asked who it was and she said, I don't know :undecided
I somehow need to broach to my Godfather about putting her in a home, I don't know how responsive he'd be, they are a couple that take their wedding vows very seriously. But he's 86 and although gets about, drives and is fit, he has no life and he deserves one
Sorry for downer post.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Give us a f***ing break! )
So the answer to your question is no, it is not the same at all. were it the same, the people in the three home countries outside of England would not be inundated with talk about England and we would be quite content.
If one of Scotland, Ireland or Wales was the only British team in the competition there would be nowhere near the same amount of nationalism from British commentators as there is from the English. If you do watch an England match - every single time they mention England or a connection to England substitute Scotland and you'll see what I mean!
I know what you mean and I sympathise. But even in England this happens too because there is a definite sense from the media of "London" and "the rest of the country". The amount of times I hear a weather presenter talking about the lovely day its going to be when she has just said its going to rain where I live! Then I realise she means its going to be sunny in London! They are very biased towards London and anything that happens there, so I can understand where you're coming from, treepotato. We had an earthquake here a few years ago and it was barely mentioned in the news and yet any slight thing that happens in London is big news!treepotato1 wrote: »That's because only English football hooligans have been on the rampage in other European countries! Welsh and Scots fans never did! You reap what you sow, I'm afraid.
Im English but I didn't sow this hooliganism. Its another case of the minority spoiling things for the majority.
Plus its a myth that its only the English that behave in this way. I have been abroad and seen many nationalities behaving in an atrocious way. We stayed in one apartment in Majorca and our first night there we were kept awake by a party going on in the apartment next door. It sounded as though they had a hundred people in there drinking. The next morning they left luckily and I saw the mess they left that apartment in. It was disgusting - thoroughly trashed and the maids had to remove some of the mattresses too as they were soaked through. The hooligans in this apartment were Swedish.0 -
Sorry about your rabbit, YM. Its upsetting when they die. I think its important to let children know that they have died so that they understand about life and death and how to deal with it. We have had many buriel ceremonies at our house over the years for the children's pets.0

Jo am thinking of you and your mum today as well and sending lots of virtual dodgies :grouphug: a short time ago I did some volunteering with Age Concern involving people in the early stages of dementia and researched it quite a bit..there is lots of information online especially on the alzheimers society website...I really knew nothing about it till I got involved and it has now become a cause really close to my heart as I don't think there is enough knowledge/help around for sufferers and her families/carers..
That said there is help out there from age concern and social services so I hope you godfather is getting some practical help...
Really hope the day isn't as sad as you expect xxStarting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000
