Thank you for the wise words.
Really until now I never thought about how much I drink or how often. It was an accumulation of the last few days (and being a bit of a lurker on this thread) that has slapped me round the face.....
I truly dont mean this as an excuse but I work & socialise in a culture that excuses alcohol over indulgence as a way of switching off. Just the idea that what I do is over the top would be unusual & seeing this a as a problem to most of those I work with.
I teach people how to listen to themselves and distraction techniques as part of my job would you believe.
Seems its a case of taking a dollop of my own advice rather than a dollop of Dutch courage (or 5) that it took before I posted for the first time.

    Morning all

Well I've done it, poured the remaining wine down the sink so today I will be AF:) One day at a time & all that

Am on my 2nd coffee trying to overcome the hangover from last night. Not at work this week so plan to tackle Mountironing and all the weeds that have shown themselves since the rain came a couple of days ago

Hope the day goes well for every one

    Nice to meet you.

Happy to report 4 AF after a lovely 8 hours of real sleep.

    Morning all!

    Morning DC and Peedie!

Welcome back IM - sorry to hear you've been through a hard time but am relieved your LFT's have returned to normal

Peedie - You will find GC talks a lot of sense on here. Why not just think of "today". One day at a time. (oh and your user name does make me chuckle as one of our long-time regulars, Fay, has a little dog called Peedie!:rotfl:)

Treepotato - just wanted to say I think you're doing brilliantly - 8AF days already.

Yes, I'm up early again. Another carp night. Throat feels its swollen to twice its normal size, head and neck ache and normal cold symptoms are now emerging. Lovely. However, had some nice strong painkillers left over from when I had sciatica and they seem to be working wonderfully!:D

On the good side.....I certainly don't fancy wine whilst feeling poorly!:D

Not much planned today...just sat here trying to decide between lasagne, shepherds pie or turkey burgers for tea. Don't know if I can be bothered to do any of it to be honest!:rotfl:

    Miss P
    xx

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Peedie WelcomeBlueSmiley.gif I find it better to never have any alcohol in my flat (and a ready supply of drinking chocolate to hand). If it's not in the fridge you might not be tempted do much.

IM Good%20luck.gif staying AF. Must have been horribly scary for you.
