Bells still chiming although they slightly softer after eating half a packet of ham directly from the packet, half a packet of lotus caramalised biscuits and downing about a pint of lemonade.....don't think I fancy my dinner now....

115 I wish I could help. But really understand where you come with the wanting it to be physical instead of mental. Shortly after I was diagnosed with depression I was hoping I had broken arm or leg and when I got deeper before the pills kicked in I started hoping I had cancer as then people would give me a break. With depression you look the same and pretty much behave the same so people have still the same expections of you as they don't realise that you are ill.

Please do try do something else than drinking. Listen to the music or relaxation CD, go for a walk, anything. If you feel you need help go to A&E.

Be nice to yourself as they say in the advert - you are worth it.

    HI Jo,

Hope you manage to get through tonight sweetheart?

I am af again, to be honest I feel too lazy even to drink, still not done diddly squat really. Though I have just had my dinner: salmon, brocolli, leeks and curly kale. (No carbs allowed). Still it has cheered me to read the nutritional benefits of curly kale. My father used to grow it when I was a little girl, way back then I ate oodles of the stuff.

I hope you will be ok? It is a funny weekend don't you think? Apart from Ra's post all the males are still awol? Btw thanks for posting Ra (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I hope 115k is ok too? Please post when you can sweetheart. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sim is not around either so I hope he is ok?

Anyway off to wrestle with Hetty. Bless her.

Big hugs and take care, oh and Sparkles you but Budgie to shame, I really need to get going. I blame Mr Budgie, well I am worried about him too and he hasn't rang yet?

    Take Care

Hi all- especially to those who are struggling. Jo I always found day 2-3 the worst, couldn't sleep, figety, bad tempered, bored etc. just hold on in there, it will pass, promise.

115K- I'm so sorry I have just logged on to see you are really struggling, try not to drink any more as I think this will cloud your judgement and make it more probable that you contemplate self harm. If you feel at any time that you are at risk YOU MUST GO TO A & E. Also these might help:

-You will have a mental health crisis team in your area, they will have an emergengy 24 hr service which you can access through ringing them. You will be able to talk to a mental health professional about your difficulties. You will find their number via your local council website under social services.
-Your GP will have an out of hours service, phone your surgery and an answer machine should give you the contact details. In our area (cornwall) you phone the number given and are given an appointment to attend the local community hospital- its never very busy, certainly not as busy as A & E miles away. The doctor should be able to assess you based on the information you give them.
    - Voluntary support through the Samaritans and AA are good if you feel you need to talk.

If you do self harm please go to A&E, they will have a psychiatric liaison medic who can help.

Most of all, don't sit and drink, your symptoms could get much worse in a very short time- as BB says depression is a very serious illness for many people and trying to self medicate with drink won't help, in fact drink is a big depressant in itself so will make your illness worse.

You can look online at support groups, the National Self Harm Network (www.nshn.co.uk/) being one of the most supportive and useful. MIND has a good range of information too on SH and depression.

Quite a good book is The Self Harm Help Book by Lois Arnold.

Please keep posting, and take care, I'm so very worried about you, as no doubt is everyone who has read your posts today- love eselt
