  • Welcome back Forever Hopeful and eselt :)

Marru well done on the dragonfly rescue. I'm like you. I'd have hated to leave it on the bus.

HB glad you have sorted things out a bit. The moosie was a tiny field one and hopefully found its way back there and not Bear Towers!

115K I hope you feel better soon and get meds sorted out.

 to Budgie, Fay and Miss P and everyone else

I'm booking a holiday in Lanzarote in September so getting very excited.
Has anyone hired a car over there? I'd like to but scared of the driving on the wrong side of the road.

Hi all.....can I rejoin the thread please? Theres so many old friends and new people on here doing so well.

I'm sorry I haven't supported you all (for about 5 months!!!) but after xmas after not drinking for a year I started to feel posting about alcohol (or even seeing it socially or in supermarkets!) was starting to trigger thoughts that I could start drinking again, just moderately (YES- god this stuff is SO seductive, it just draws you right in, often when you are at your most vulnerable). So I kind of went into hibernation mode for a while whilst I wrestled with the ridiculous idea that people who have been chronic alcoholics, like me, can EVER drink moderately.

Anyway I haven't had a drink, but it was a close call......I'm going to listen to Graham C.

Just going to catch up with the thread...I may be a while.................

I once asked when it would be safe for me to drink again.

Was told that on 27th May 2033 I would be able to start controlled drinking.

Me - several times. Only problem was that I was getting panic attacks from alcohol withdrawal.
Like staying in Costa Teguise and Famara beach is stunning.

    Go for it.

When I moved to UK 10 years ago I shipped my car over and first thing I did was to take it to M25 and on the same day drove from London to Evesham using A roads - now that was scary. You get used to it soooo easily!

PS I do have now car with wheel on the proper side ;)

Just filled half my application form in for a masters course (eeek! don't know if I'll be accepted but its worth a try eeek!!!)

Feeling more than a little apprehensive about this - why don't I feel confident about my skills to do this? How strange when other people just go ahead and believe. Oh yes, that's it, belief and believe you can do it and should do it and want to do it and others will see this too

  • It's taken a while to catch up...and that was only this thread!

It's so lovely to see all the regulars on here :jMakes me feel bad for not showing up for so long :o

Honestly? I don't know what happened to me. Like in life, I'm often unreliable, change my mind at the drop of a hat ;)

Have had to spend a lot of time working through issues with the husband. It was all my fault. No really, he didn't manipulate me into submission. It was definitely all my doing (or undoing) I think we're about there now though.

Like others here, I'm now concentrating on my weight. No more convincing myself that 3 packets of sunbites is okay just because they have fibre in them :rotfl:

Much love (I've missed saying that :()
    Need to start again :o
