    Hello Everyone

I had my appointment at Snowberry Lane this week and happy to report so far so good. The proceedure was incredibly quick; once the injections were over I did not feel a thing. I had 8 removed and the results are mixed at the moment; some areas you can hardly tell anything has been done and a couple of places are quite red and weepy. It obviously depends on what size mole, how raised and whereabouts the mole is

The Dr said that moles on the face heal quicker than on the body and it can take a good 18 months for the new skin to completely blend in with your complexion.

Overall I am impressed at the moment, having waited years, I can honestly say the proceedure is no where near as scary or as painful as I thought. I will posts updates, any questions please ask and I will try and answer.

    Regards
    Lucy

I remember having mine done in Hong Kong like 2 years ago. I had a expert consultant, whom reassured me it'd be ok. Yes so I took the lazer removal treatment way (As there's another way where the mole can be frozen and removed at ease), I had about 4 done I think. It turned out to be a good outcome overall especially a kinda big one on top of my head. I know this is going to sound bad, but it hurt because the lazer was going into your skin and as it goes in deeper it comes into contact with newly fresh open skin but it was worth it overall, rather I had done it at the age of 16 than now as I'd be even more terrified. :A
  • This forum has been an excellent resource and certainly provided reassurance while deciding on the most suitable procedure to undertake.

I had consultations at both the Snowberry Lane Clinic and the Nottingham Laser Clinic. The doctors at both clinics were excellent and were very reassuring and provided advice on the best methods or removing the moles I was interested in having removed. It was a bit disconcerting that both doctors recommended slightly different procedures for removing the same moles. This obviously made for a difficult decision on which clinic and procedure to undertake. Nottingham thought all of the moles could be removed using the radio surgery method, while Snowberry thought some should be removed using elliptical incision.

I untimely decided to have the procedure done by Dr Hamilton at Nottingham. As others have stated the procedure is quick and relatively painless, the needle they use for freezing is thin and after a slight stinging sensation the pain is gone. There was no pain during or after the procedure. The wounds healed over quickly and looked like a cigarette burn (as others have mentioned). I had the procedure a week or so ago and things are looking positive, seem the moles are gone but I’ll be able to comment more accurately after the scabbing is completely gone.

Dr Hamilton was very professional, the consultation was helpful and the procedure seems to have worked. I’ll post again later with a status update on the healing process and if any scars are evident.

As some people have asked about having moles removed on the NHS I thought I would comment on this as well. I have had a mole removed on the NHS previously, it was slightly raised and would sometimes case issues with shaving so it was removed free of charge. They doctor froze the area and shaved the mole slightly below skin level with a scalpel, this did not require stitches as the incision was not deep enough. I am happy with the results as well but I don’t believe this method would work with flat moles as there is in essence nothing to shave off.
  • Can anyone elaborate please on whether their moles were intradermal (ie, had some layers *under* the skin - not just on top)?

If you had some of these removed, how deep did the surgery need to go? What do you think of the result?

    Thank you

Hi, I'm new here and also interested in the radio removal technique.
I went through every single post here and first of all I'd like to say that I'm not working for any of the clinics.. just look at the time of this post.. way past working hours :)

I have somewhat 20+ slightly biggish moles that I'd like to remove. I understand that the radio in only effective when treating raised moles.
I have been in touch with two clinics regarding prices. I also tried to get Nottingham laser clinic on email but for some reason they failed to reply. I thought I'll put some stuff in order so people who want the costs would not need to dig so deep inside the thread. Here is what I know so far:

    -NHS:

Will do it free if they believe it's necessary. When living abroad, I used the local health service (not NHS but works on the same rules regarding moles). and surgically removed 4 moles from my back. You might be able to.. :A convince the NHS the mole interfere with your shaving, get caught on cloth or bleed but whatever the case is, doing it through the NHS might cause noticable scars and also you might find yourself in a long queue..

    Snowberry Lane Clinic in Melksham:
Radio - £280 for the first one, £70 for any additional one.
They do consider a reduced price if you have a large number of moles to remove. In my case (I'm removing about 25), they will do 4-5 of the free of charge.

If the mole is flat on the skin and would need to be surgically removed, guide prices are £380 for the first one and £70 for each one you do at the same day.
I still need to find out if there are additional fees, or maybe it's all included.
As a side note, I must say that I was impressed with their response. They responded very quickly, answered all my questions with some good details, and was very kind.

    Nottingham Laser Clinic.
I didn't get my email answered just yet (will try and contact them by phone during the day sometime) but for the good order of things, here's what I've heard on this thread and just by googling away.
£300 for the first one, £70 for any additional mole or £50 for any additional mole if you're removing more than 20 at one go.
Somebody did mention consultation fees for the last two clinics but I can't remember and just too lazy to go back so much.

next... St Mellion Cosmetic and Laser Clinic
I didn't like the way they responded because they haven't actually answered a lot of the questions. They did, however, give me their prices:
£300 consultation and removal of first mole
£400 for up to 10 lesions.
£1000 for multiple lesions [additional one hour session limits by adrenalin
    in the local anesthetic]
£300 Additional cost if specimens need to be sent for histology

Has anyone tried them? They seem to be cheaper but their response wasn't detailed at all and also, kinda had lots of spelling mistakes :( (I just corrected most of them I think).
In my defense, I'm dual national and only moved to the UK about a year ago so, yeah, probably have some mistakes of my own - sorry about that :).

I'm now looking into doing this procedure abroad, seems somewhat cheaper. I am as unsure as I can be, but maybe I'll do this in Israel, they charge about 2/3rds of the price the UK clinics ask for.
Has anyone else considered removing the moles abroad???

Also, I think that all these clinics way overcharge with these services. From what I can tell so far from youtube, it doesn't look too complex. I would like to hear from you, should you only take costs into consideration, or does the skill actually matters?

Do you reckon if we'll conspire together and ask them "why do you charge so much, other clincs has offered me such and such" that they might reduce the price?
    Hey.. free market! :-)

Re Nottingham LC, there is no consultation fee. I e-mailed them photographs of the mole I wanted removed and they were able to tell me whether it was removable via radiowave.
Definitely think some level of skill is involved, as there is a chance of going too deep or not taking enough mole away. Good luck with your research and getting what you want done.

    Hey everybody.
I consulted by e-mail with a surgeon I trust (also does radio removal abroad), and he told me that radio is only suited for moles which are raised and are WITHOUT A PIGMENT.
I thought that was a bit odd seeing on you-tube videos of pigmented moles removed that way, but trying to google this (although not much information on topic) I found a forum post of a woman that her doctor told her the same thing and she went through with it anyways. She said although it was removed entirely, the pigment came back.

If the pigment stays then I'm not sure there's any point for me to go through with this. Can anybody confirm this or prove that it's ok?

    Cheers

Help! I want my mole removed. Here it is so you get and idea where it is ..
    http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v24/victoria.gd87e/?action=view&current=DSCF6567.jpg

On the side of my nose, its flat and dark. Make up wont remove it and I really want it removed and minimal scarring.

I wanted laser surgery as it just looks better than having it cut off! I am now told laser scars more on the net? Surely wrong?

I cant find anywhere though that removes moles via last in South East of England. Please help!
