hi i am new here, good luck on your removal

i stumbled across this mole removal clinic in london....as i cannot post links please use google to search for :

    cosmedics uk

on the website i see the laser option says £80 but for small skin tags/warts

so do you think it would be £80 for laser on moles??? cause i believe moles can be removed with laser aswell and as they have the laser equipment they should be able to remove moles with this procedure if able

Lucy66, can I ask why you chose Snowberry Lane Clinic over NLC? I think like me youve been following the thread and travelling distance is probably an issue but I have been unable to find any testimonials from people who've been there-have you managed to? Thank you.

    Hi megansussex

Firstly for travelling distance as Nottingham is not really an option being about 3 hours away. I have also studied their website and compared others; googled Dr Gabriel (can't find anything dodgy, but thats not to say it doesn't exist!) and also spoken twice to the clinic who were quite reassuring (ok the cynics amongst us would say they would be wouldn't they) I cannot find any testimonials either, other than the photos I have seen.

After reading this forum and having wanted this done for years, I have to have a certain amount of faith and so far I feel 'comfortable' with the limited dealings I have had with them.

thanks lucy. i agree you have to follow your instincts. my problem is my instincts keep changing! lol! im so indecisive..NLC would cause me such problems with travelling, costs, child care but Snowberry is so much closer but has no testimonials..i suppose the answer would be to see how things go for you (sorry!) but have reached a point i just want to book and get on with it..anyway i shall let (you all) know where i book and how it goes..and best of luck to you lucy.

..have just had another look at the snowberry lane site-it does look quite impressive especially as it seems some tv channels have used it for beauty procedures..think this is the one people..lucy which branch are you booked in to? and did you automatically get booked with dr gabriel? thanks again.

I am booked into the Melksham clinic in Wiltshire as that is the only one that has the Radio Frequency machine. I specifically requested Dr Gabriel and was assured that it would be him doing the proceedure.

is there anyone who has been to the cosmedics in london?

as this is the closest mole removal clinic to me

so any good or bad experiences reagarding them?
  • Hi, this post is to everyone who's interested about the Nottingham clinic. I went there after being told I had to choose between keeping my mole (on my face) or having a scar when I went to Skn clinic, as they wanted to use the exision method, so i put it off for a few years but when I found out about nottingham i went along for a consultation. they are really nice, just as all reviews of the place say, and it is above a doctors surgery. i was told that the mole isnt as straight forward as some and although they can use the radiosurgery method it would need two goes, basically just so they don't go too deep the first time and cause a pitted scar. so for six months i basicaly had a flattened version of what i had before, slightly faded but still a mole. The actual procedure was fine, anaesthetic stung a bit but thats all. then after the six months he had another go, and this was last year. i'm a bit concerned about it at the moment (hence why i'm googling about other peoples experiences of this method!) as it has developed a little scar tissue in the centre and is still a darker, brown red colour overall. So at the moment I don't feel any better about the area on my face which was the whole point after all. They are very good at aftercare and always at the end of the phone and they've tried to reassure me that it is still in early stages of healing and after another 6 months is should look a lot better. I'm starting to be convinced there is no easy way of mole removal, there are draw backs to every method and this method certainly isn't 'magic' in the way it could be perceived to be. I am reassured that the doctor has seen thousands of other patients for this procedure. so, i guess everyone is different and i could just have badly behaved skin, but thats the stage i'm at at the moment,. sorry it's not the most postitive story you may be looking for. i have had no problems with the place overall, good customer service; however as one poster mentioned earlier i had noticed that two of the customer reviews on the website are strangely similar.

i may find in a few months that things have settled and looking better, but be prepared to wait a long time to see good results with this method.

surely there must be other people out there who've had the procedure done and it's all gone really well and healed up nice and quick?

I've just come across this post and was amazed because I am in the exact same position: went to same clinic and was told the same thing about my mole! Has there been any improvement since your post? I don't know if it's worth spending so much money if it still leaves a mark....

Well I had mine done at my local GP surgery the other day. The doctor and nurse were both very good and treated me with kid gloves for what's a pretty straightforward op, which was nice.

The doctor took the mole right off with the radio device but did say he might have left a tiny bit of pigmentation because he didn't want to go right down but it looks as though it will heal skin colour.

To the posters who said their surgeon didn't take it all the way off, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as nothing will change in the interim period surely? I'd be dubious it's not just a reason to charge more for two sittings, although I'm no expert and could very well be wrong! :)

The actual op was fine with the needle not being painful at all for the local anasthetic and the worst part was probably breathing in burning skin. As there wasn't a ventilation unit, which is really needed for this.

    Oh yes, total cost: £0.

The doc said I didn't need to put anything on it but reading around online everyone seems to recommend keeping the wound moist with vaseline several times a day, which I'm doing and covering it with vaseline and a plaster when going out. Also occasionally put some antiseptic on to make sure it does't get infected which would mess up the skin healing.

I'll post some before and after pics later on when it starts to properly heal but it's only been a couple of days so nothing to see yet really, unless you want to see an icky wound? :P
