Sofree, thats an excellent post, how did you get it done for free though? and what do you mean by kid gloves? :S
  • Mary_S, thanks for the post I'm sorry you're having problems. I do think that it is very slowly looking better...slightly less red. I think that you just never know what result you're going to get and I think I just heal really slowly and it's still getting there. Everyone's skin and body is different and it's a risk you take. Where was your mole and have you had problems with scarring too?, or have you not had it done yet? I know what you mean about the money but I think the final result is what you are paying for and sometimes it just takes a while! I've got a more positive outlook on it now anyway which helps!
Sofree, although the reasons are slightly over my head for doing things in two sittings, it didn't cost any more money so I presume it was done for a reason! It depends on the type of mole, some are trickier than others and mine was pretty tricky!
Jamzil, I have heard good things about the clinic in London, plastic surgeons who know what they're doing, too far for me to go though.

James: It was free because it was on the NHS rather than private and kid gloves is an expression, meaning they took a lot of care. They didn't put on children's gloves before treating me, that'd just be weird and I'd probably run a mile! :D

I am booked into the Melksham clinic in Wiltshire as that is the only one that has the Radio Frequency machine. I specifically requested Dr Gabriel and was assured that it would be him doing the proceedure.

    Hi Lucy,

I have been following this thread with interest esp as i too have been looking into the snowberry lane clinic for mole removal!

I have a few flat ones i would like removed so expect they will suggest doing it via laser, i've heard that they can't remove flat ones via raido, not sure if that's true tho?
I'm just such a wimp about these things, i've been meaning to ring for an appointment for ages but kept backing out! But now i'm going to ring up and book myself in for a consultation.

Have you already been for a consultation yet? I'm not too far from the melksham one or the bristol one so really would like to go to either of these.
Also do you know anything about the costs involved? I can't seem to see anything on thier website?

Anyways glad to know that other people are in the same boat as me!

    Hello 6496star

My appointment is an initial consultation followed by the proceedure (all on same appointment because of travelling). The costs are £230 or £270 (can't remember off top of head) followed by £70 per mole. The person I spoke with said as I am requesting so many the Dr will negotiate a price with me on the day. He may decide to do them all on one appointment or I may have to go back, but the consultation will cover both sessions.

Hope this helps, give the clinic a ring, they seem very helpful.

hi all. im slightly concerned abt my mole removal. had done very recently at snowberry. i think it could have a slight indentation (half of area) and i can see a slight scab forming in that area..im hoping that the skin will even out over the next few days and will post results..i think a have difficult skin..id had radio before a few years ago (clinic in kent) and have an indent there too. overall the clinic (snowberry) and staff all good and doctor has been doing this for 20 years, so as i say i think maybe its me..(im also a bit of a perfectionist which doesnt help!) will report back shortly.

    Hi Megan

Your best bet is to make sure you do not knock the scab. This wll promote better healing. To do this I applied vaseline to a plaster at night time. i did not apply any vaseline directly to the wound, as this could have knocked the scab. Mine healed really well, and did not need vaseline applying during the day. Hope this helps.

I think I have a laser mole in my garden. It goes in very straight lines:D
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

thankyou for your help sazb12, i really appreciate it.

ive just found some plasters that say they help keep wounds moist so im using these and vaseline at the moment to try and improve the indented area. ive no idea if it'll work but if the idea is to slow down the drying out part of healing then i suppose it cant hurt.

    thanks again.
