Hey everyone the legal issue is that when a cross stitching magazine has a design they take the legal copyright for it for a certain amount of time before it is given back to the designer. Now im not sure how long that is, so the problem is that the designer may not be able to say we can use the design as the magazine may have the rights to say who can use it. Am waiting for a reply as to whether this is the case and if it is whether they will allow us to use it.
There is also the issue of us putting the design up on a website, allowing others access to it as well, im pretty sure we will need to take that down.

Its up to everyone whether they want to make a start or not, I don't think the magazine would put a stop to this as its a charity project but obviously I can't be 100% sure of that

We can get around the website issue (if it is an issue) by photocopying the chart from the magazine, can't we?

For people who have sent an SAE, how much postage did you need to put on the envelope?

I received my items from Dorastar in a jiffy bag and it was a standard 2nd Class Large Letter stamp (51p).

I couldn't wait for a reply from the magazine yes im impatient lol so I emailed the designer to check that she has the copy right for it and she has replied saying yes she definitely has!!! :j :j so we can go ahead and start stitching

Martin's team told me about the issue and that i needed to check it out with the magazine, I contacted the magazine and have been waiting for a reply, coming on here got me a bit impatient so I emailed the designer and explained the problem and she replied straight away and said its all ok. Hopefully Martin's team will be ok with the fact I have 100% confirmation from the designer that she has the copy right
