Thanks to everyone who has already PM'd about their letter and/or paypal'd. My Dh has been amazed by all the names so far especially chickywiggle!!!!
Have sorted out who needs what and started doing threads and dh is going to post them out asap. They have sent us 4 skeins of the main purple which is for the letters so we have plenty to go round.
If anyone finds any thread colours missing when I send them out please PM and I'll send extra on. I now have 200% extra sympathy for all the companies who cut and sort threads for their kits - is a nightmare:eek:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

alphabet - one designThanks for sorting them all out Dorastar.... I bet you never want to cut anymore thread again! lol
Sweetcarer I love that design! And it looks like everyone could use it easily, but we'd have to make the second border about 10 rows after the first border so there are 9 rows inbetween (that leaves 2 rows above and below the writing) Does everyone think that would look ok?
As for the colour of the writing im not sure the same colour as the letter will work as the second border will be that colour too?
And thanks for doing the updates Chickywiggle

Hi all i've been away for a long weekend to stay at my other halfs, so have just been catching up.
I've pm'd Doraster for her paypal address, and thanks Emzy for the address to send the finished squrae to.0 -
Great news on the donation of supplies & good luck to Doraster for sorting.
My opinion is that we make the quilt bigger using only fabric & not another alphabet around the border or within as the design itself it beautiful & would look too busy/cramped adding a differing style to it.
perhaps
aida fabric aida fabric .......etc
(possibly a full quilted line here)
fabric aida fabric aida .........etc
(possibly a full quilted line here)
with a single fabric border around all edges once complete just to beef it up to a nice single size OR keep it smaller for a cot quilt & do a matching bumper ( are they still OK for cots???)
Anyway I'd like to see a posted completed version so I know what the final look should be once someone has got that far ( for assurance that I am/will be doing it right )0 -
alphabet - any designHello all!
Sorry I haven't posted. it's been a manic weekend.
I drew some patterns up and coloured them in with my pencils (looks a bit like a two year old did them) so I'll scan them when I get home and post them up.
Hopefully everyone will be able to give me ideas of what works from there.

alphabet - one designHi - just popped on to say that I'm holding off on this atm and sitting back until all the final decisions are made - don't want to end up with mine different to everyone else's!:o:rotfl:
I will make it my 'June' challenge on the XS thread.
Btw - Dora I have the threads already and am using white fabric which I bought from sew and so, so that will save you cutting another set of threads for me lolCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Have just got a few people who need to let me know what they want to do and a plea for those people who are sending SAE's please put your MSE name somewhere so I know who you are or you might end up with the wrong letter

Yes I did. What I was refering more to was that combining 2 diff samplers on the same quilt would detract from the whole look (IMO).
As the x stitch samples are quite small I was offering options of how it could be made bigger without the added alpha being done.0
