    morning! :D

i really need to sort this house out! Kian has started to bum shuffle to get to things and is finding all sorts of crap that has slid under the sofas. pushes himself backwards when he is lying on his front but no crawling yet. am a little pleased as it gives me more time to enjoy him as a baby----if that makes sense.

have also stopped sterilising his bottles, anything and everything is going in his mouth so i figured its not going to make a huge difference if his bottles arent sterilised. he's had 2 days of them not sterilised and no side effects as yet. i have the water as hot as i can stand it to wash them.

am getting fed up now of all these world cup osngs, although the dizzee rascal and james corden one is quite good.

Mine was reasonably up to date because MIL came over and did it all whilst we were at CP, and then she did more of it when she babysat on Thursday night...

    /QUOTE]

    Spoilt much!

Saying that my mum hasn't asked if I have any ironing that needs doing in a good few weeks. Maybe I've not been looking as pathetically exhausted as usual. May have to have words or cut out wearing the make-up :rotfl::rotfl:

AF is here in full force and I feel like my womb is falling out. Must go in search of painkillers at lunch.

Cute baby pic. Sorry it is so tiny have "pinched" it off SIL's facebook

Yeah... I don't iron those sorts of things either... I just don't iron often enough!
Anybody else find that when all your ironing is done you have nowhere to put it? :o
My ironing has not "all been done" in probably well over a year...

LOL - I knew someone would play a turn as I was posting that!!!
Was it me? I have some crap tiles in your game...

Susan, sorry to hear that Alice is ill, I hope she feels better soon!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

For those who bf over 6 months: I was told by the health visitor that if I continued to feed over this point, either bubs or I would have to go on vitamins - anyone else get told this? I'm also concerned about iron intake (so have been interested in the conversation on this recently!) as none of the baby vitamins contain iron, and I can't take iron tablets with my underactive thyroid.
Official advice is that all children should take vitamins from age one to five and that BF babies should take them from six months. I think the assumption must be that all children will have a poor diet and therefore need supplementation but formula is fortified so they don't "need" to be taking vitamins in addition to formula. I've almost never seen my HV so wasn't told anything by her and I chose to ignore the official advice because in my opinion it isn't necessary unless your child has a really poor diet or has some underlying health problem or other indication that they need vitamin supplementation.

Also. Love the photo of Isla.

I'm so not usually into pink and faff, but that pic is gorgeous. And she has a very talented mummy in Boo.

Also yay :T for Molly's crawling.

I was hoping this! We're using the premade cartons, as she flatout refused to take the powdered stuff. I have no problems with feeding her morning and night (and she still feeds during the night!), I'm just concerned she might get upset if she can't feed during the day, iykwim? I'm sure she'll get used to it though!

Still bf at 7 months :) However I nearly fainted in my buggyfit class two weeks ago (it was a really hot day) so now I'm taking pregnacare again just in case I'm low in anything. Found a couple of interesting sites, this and this but they basically seem to say babies only need additional iron if they are tested and shown to be low in it so I'm still not really sure.

*admits to not having taken it out of the carrier bag, never mind the box yet*

    Impressive! :D

I'm sure once you've used it you'll be a changed woman and will start ironing socks, undies and tea towels.

    Oh, ok, maybe not. :p

    Yey for crawling Molly. :T

EA Lovely pics - you all look loved up and happy. :happyhear

Thanks for all the good wishes for Alice. There's not really anything that can be done unless it is caught much earlier. They can give antibiotics but all they do is stop you being infectious and by now the chances are she isn't any more anyway. There's a website about whooping cough run by a GP with a special interest in it which has a lot of useful information if anyone is interested. The vaccine wears off so anyone over 10 and under 60 is unlikely to be immune but it is much milder in adults. (Anyone over 60 probably had the illness when they were little and therefore will be immune.) The younger the child is, the worse it is and the more dangerous - it is particularly dangerous for babies.
