She's had a bad cough for two and a half weeks which hasn't got any better and you can often tell when she's going to start coughing because you can hear that she can't quite breathe properly. OH has mild asthma and we both have hayfever and various other allergies between us so she is high risk for this kind of thing. We've been given an inhaler to see if it helps and have to go back in two weeks if it doesn't help and four weeks if it does. I'm not sure which is worse - it working and her having asthma or it not working and the sleep deprivation continuing.

Hi susan, ive got the same thing at the mo with jake, he had a cough a few weeks ago that just wasnt shifting, but everytime he gets a cough its the same so we were prescribed a inhaler only to use at night cos thats when it was at its worst, it helped loads, i dont need to use it every night just when he seems to be coughing particuarly badly, the doctor told me they couldnt diagnose asthma cos he was too young so i'll just have to see how it goes in the future,
i was the same as a child, plus i think jasmine might be heading the same way she coughs quite badly at nights so need to keep my eye on her too.

We seem to be having an indoor day today! I think my mum said she was coming round but no sign of her yet.

DD1 is on the little laptop and the other 2 are fighting over the DS!

It's not often they get to play with this sort of thing though, I try to ration it a bit and get them running around but the garden is a soggy mess because of all the rain yesterday and I really can't face going out, I'm still really achy and sore from yesterday :(

I hope Alice's problems get sorted soon. I know you never want a diagnosis like that because athsma is for life but it's better that it's known about and treated.

I used to be really jealous of my friend who had athsma because she didn't have to do our 'cross country' run which consisted of 5 laps round the school site :rotfl:

I did some detective work and it seems to be someone who's a mutual friend of a MSE mummy but who's randomly friending all the friends of her friend to try and attract loads of friends and potential customers for her business, which is advertised on her page.

    Clear as mud?!

I'm just home from the most pointless meeting ever. Whole department meets weekly to make announcements and discuss patients who need to be waitlisted for the group sessions or inpatient care. This week the only announcements were that four people will be on holiday at varying times over the next week, and there were NO PATIENTS for the patient discussion. It meant I was home very quickly, but I travelled for 30 minutes for a 4 minute meeting.

If my friend has a dentist appointment today but the new dentist nurse is a seriously nasty piece of work and my friend is not comfortable having her in the room, does she have to?
