I get the train at 8 to be in work for 9 (I actually leave home at 7:30 to drop Liam off first) and arrive home at 5:15 from finishing work at 4:30 and that's getting the train to Manchester which is less than 10 miles away.
See, I don't think its unrealistic! OH travels 30 mins each way for work and thinks it would be too far for me?!
I think its because its motorway it feels like I'd be hundreds of miles away from home!
I've been really spoiled working close by for so long I think0 -

Good morning ladies,
Evie is sitting up on her own unsupported!!!! Only for about 15-20 seconds at a time but I think thats pretty good :j:j
Can't remember if I mentioned it but my sister was diagnosed with kidney failure in October last year and has been on dialysis daily since then. Anyway, my mum donated her kidney to her on Tuesday. Both ops went well and so far they're both doing really well. Still wait and see for my sis as she's on critical list for a week cos of possibility of rejection but so far so good. And if she's still ok after a week, then they seem to think its unlikely to be rejected :T
Anyway, off back to catch up a bit now...:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy

Ooh, while i remember, does anyone know of a forum about setting up a market stall/craft fair stall or something like that?? I'm rubbish at using the search things on here.
Thinking of trying to get one to sell some paintings but need to find out some stuff first.:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy

It really depends on the reliability of the motorway. I do about 40 miles to work, mostly on the motorway, it takes me about 45 mins each way. It is quite difficult to get used to if you are not used to commuting (I was SO tired at first) but after a while you are fine.
However, my commute is very reliable. I have only got 'stuck' for more than 5 mins a handful of times in 2 1/2 years (although I was there for 6 hours once LOL). Hubby used to do it the other way when we lived in the town where we work and he was always getting stuck.
If I headed south on the motorway in a morning rather than north it would take me 45 mins to do about 10 miles.
Does that make ANY sense!!Also, MFD has sold her soul to the Lexulous devil and should be shunned and exorcised for her own good.
Does that mean I am playing a good game?

Both your news items are wonderful Maz :j thank you for sharing

A friend of mine sells paintings on Etsy, and another has a permit for street selling. I think you'd be best finding a craft fair you want to sell at and asking about their specific requirements?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Perfect sense! OH is on the motorway at 7am and 7pm so he never gets any traffic either way.
I'd imagine this job would be odd hours rather than prime commuter time

newbie_maz - try the Up Your Income board. You might find some good stuff about that sort of thing

You would be surprised when 'prime commuter time' is these days! *area of expertise*
Motorways are generally much busier at 6am than at 9am and the hometime 'rush hour' tends to start about 3pm.
Although I don't know about Scotland
The best option is to apply and see how you get on - and if you get an interview or an offer practice the commute at the right time to get a real indication of how long it will take. You can always turn the job down if it won't work for you.
I am thinking of all these things ATM!please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman
