I haven't bought the material yet but when I do if it just falls straight off with that hemming tape I will be straight round with a duster.......although I actually have no idea how to use a sewing machine, but i'm sure I could be taught;)

i used the hemminmg tape and its stayed brilliant. just followed the instructions a little more careful than usual (leaving to properly cool ) made them at the end of march. i used the hemming stuff to fold over at the top and have used curtain wire to hang them up (like net curtains). and they are still hanging.

"They" have had all sorts of frankly offensive theories about autism and its causes, mostly of the sort to make mothers feel dreadful. But while there's no single gene that causes autism, They see familial clusters and think there's probably a sequence or set of genes that are involved.

Very complex, extremely interesting and They are hopeful to one day have an answer.

That makes sense to me SS.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes - i feel really odd that i'm the mum of a teenager! Mentally i'm not old enough! :o

He seems to like his new room, he's spent most of his time in there since he got back on Friday. Or maybe that's just him being a teenager.

We're expecting visitors to pop in through the day, and if it brightens up we'll go out later for a walk and an ice cream at our famous ice cream shop. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2336892711&v=wall

Moooooooorning! Freaky, we're going to the car boot sale too! Must be the day for bargains :D. Strict £5 limit per person being enforced though - we're only going for entertainment purposes. It doesn't start until 11 (odd, but am not complaining) so just being lazy until it's time to go. I hope there's baby stuff.

Jenny, love the piccie. Is that somewhere near your house? Or the playground at the bottom of the Common? Finn is prolly still a little young for baby swings, but soon! (perfect for summer)

MFD, hope your head feels better!

Happy Birthday to 3's new teenager!

Fab night for us - no wakeups other than the usual 1 feed. HURRAH!

    Morning all

Power cut out at 11 last night... neighbour's lights seemed on, spent ten minutes on tiptoes staring at fuse box by the light of my mobile phone's screen before concluding there was nothing obvious then called the electricity company... they said someone would be round by 3am  but then they eventually let me know at 1am that it was a "substation" problem and they wouldn't come round after all. Weird as my neighbours directly above me had power

So a late night and then a lengthy re-settling for E at 3.30 - he was really inconsolable except when being cuddled, I think because of the utter pitch darkness (he usually has a night light on the monitor). Tricky finding the cot with my knees and the blanket by touch while dangling him etc :)

On the upside my lovely OH got with him at 7 and entertained him for 2 hours then cooked me bacon and scrambled eggs :D so I got lots of extra dozing! This is practically unheard of in this house, as I wake up at 7ish "regardless", and OH is a terrible terrible morning person - she will probably have to crash during naptime to make up for it now :p so I am very grateful and confused!

Hope you all have a nice day in and out 3 :) you are nowhere near old enough to be mother of a teen, and that is very obvious. Tell someone to sort it out!

Great pic Jenny :) combined with "I met aless in the park" I was thinking it was Finn with Erin but with much concentration realised that it couldn't be :o

MFD, thought your posts had a certain jollity about them ;) hope you have an easy day planned. Only wine can wash away the shame of your Scrabble loss anyway.

Becles, what would happen if you didn't do the ironing :p sometimes there are worse things than creases :D

Booking appointment at hospital/midwife clinic for OH this morning. Hopefully all goes smoothly, first "real" thing about the pregnancy :)

I think because I am a boy I am not allowed to say that Mel looks gorgeous in those photos so I shall just say your family look great and very happy :):)

ETA Aless, what carboot sale is that? 11am start around here?

Been meaning to post, the last 2 weeks or so poor OH has been massively afflicted by "pregnancy brain" in her speech - I am terrible at remembering details but two recent ones that made me laugh are

    "I can see your toilet-paper" [meaning ...belly-button ...]
    and
[gesturing at Elijah in his highchair] "We need to cut his eyes" [after a horrified expression from me she explained she meant the hair dropping into his eyes :p]

Bruno - it's in Mitcham (and it's a charity one too for Shooting Star Children's Hospice). If you just Google that, you can find the address :).
