I'll start with apologies to 3 for daring to ask a quesion but then deleting it as soon as I got an answer (elsewhere).

My question was based on a purely selfish reasoning but I asked...

Having one (beautiful) autistic child, how did you ever decide to go ahead and have another....never mind the 2 gorgeous girls that you now sport...

    AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

I've just tried to reply three times, and lost it on submit!

    Short answer:
When we conceived Liv, we weren't fully aware of Joes' problems.
While 20ish weeks pregnant with Liv, Joes Dr suggested we find out the sex, then if it's a boy, she'll discuss further! **confused smiley** Apparently boys are the weaker sex (no !!!! sherlock), even at embryo stage!

After Liv was born Joe had genetic/Chromosone testing all of which came back normal.
Although 'they' reckon Autism isn't hereditary - if you ask my mum I was an odd child who would now be labelled autistic, my biological father is also odd, I have a severely autistic cousin on his side too. On Mums side I have two uncles who worry too much about the order of their CD collections. :rotfl:

I still wonder if the birth contributed, maybe J was always a bit autistic, but the birth (baby distressed/oxygen starvation/em.c/s caused further problems? But the Dr's have always told me that Oxygen starvation causes CP - not Joes problems.
With all the testing J had gone through, which showed me as normal, we went ahead and conceived V. I found out at 20 weeks what variety she was, and tbh, if she was a boy, i'd have probably worried myself sick!

TBH, i'd absolutely love another, but am terrified of finding out i'm having a boy and worrying myself sick for months!

    Happy Birthday 3's teenage DS!!

    Gorgeous picture Jenny :)

"They" have had all sorts of frankly offensive theories about autism and its causes, mostly of the sort to make mothers feel dreadful. But while there's no single gene that causes autism, They see familial clusters and think there's probably a sequence or set of genes that are involved.

Very complex, extremely interesting and They are hopeful to one day have an answer.

I hope the christening goes well Nicki, I'm sorry your family aren't with you.

Molly woke for her midnightish feed and I fell asleep feeding her, just woke up a few minutes ago cause she was looking for more boob. I have the most awesome 80s quiff ever, bed hair FTW! Serves me right for lying down on it right out of the bath.

Right, think i've sorted MFD. I know what she looks like, will recognise glam from from previous photo of meets and jack, and i know her name. Will recognise SM from her avvy and facebook. Jillie am currently stalking her photos on facebook, but will recognise the lovely red haired Kian. I will also recognise Isla, and therefore her mummy boo. And don't think i'll miss Sami, with her boys. Plus the accent should be instantly recognisable. lol
If you recognise my accent I'll cry :p I have become far to wigan-ish of late :rotfl:

Please everyone feel free to pick me up on any dropped Ts or Hs etc I keep telling Chris to wash his 'ands  then make myself say hands hands hands hands to try to drum the correct way back in my brain.

    Morning all..

I crashed out on the sofa (again :o) last night. Woke up fifteen minutes ago with no alarm (mobile dead) - have I been reprogrammed?! My old natural waking up time was gone 9am! Anyway, was just in time to wake OH to send him off to work. At least Rhys made it to his own bed for a change and is still there now.

Hopefully I've got time for a cuppa and breakfast before Rhys wakes and then the party preparations start all over again :) I'm sooo going to work just for a rest on Tuesday! ;):p

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Happy birthday J :bdaycake: :D Are you doing something special today 3? Does J like his more grown up room? :)

3 - Thanks for you lovely compliment, you are lovely.
I haven't bought the material yet but when I do if it just falls straight off with that hemming tape I will be straight round with a duster.......although I actually have no idea how to use a sewing machine, but i'm sure I could be taught;)

K actually slept for the first time in a week, without being woken up coughing, hopefully it is on it's way out.

Gorgeous pic, Jenny. Erin looks so grown-up.

Happy Birthday Joe! Just looking at your FB pictures, 3, and you do produce gorgeous children.

Early start here as we were up at 6. We did manage to avoid all the evening up and down silliness which was lovely. Fingers crossed this the start of going back to normal on that front.

Yay for your friend Elle. Hope she makes a good recovery now she is back home.

Hmmm, pondering whether to go to carboot as we're up so early (EA- your FB status totally made me think of that). Might get some bargains.......
