thanks mdw. we are onto wailing rather than screaming......

kindofagilr - We had a maxi cosy which we managed with until LO was about 10 1/2 months and we then switched to the maxi cosi Tobi, which should do her till shes approx 4yrs old, and was suitable from 9months onwards. Its got a great recline feature for when they are still quite small. And removeable padding to help it grow with her. HTH

  • MacSmiler - you have been missing but I started a 'gently retreating' routine with Benjamin - singing Twinkle Twinkle outside his room until he settled. It has changed our lives and tonight I am so pleased to report that for the first time I put him down in his cot, said goodnight and left the room and he has gone to sleep without crying.

I hope you know that I am not gloating in any way. It has taken a long, long time to get to this point and I have cried far too many tears.

I'm posting to keep my mind focused.

LO is doing really well these days. I can't believe how fast she's growing up! She's my little shadow and we have so much fun together. She's having a very hard time teething, but had a good few days this week hence why the CC has been trialled today!). Her sleeping is still as bad as ever though and having really studied it it's our fault and we've given her some bad habits.

So whole new bedtime routine. Bath, into bedroom, changed, into cot with milk while I read a story in a soothing and calm voice, then cuddles and kisses, lying down and settling followed by a firm love you and goodnight before walking out. She sleeps pretty well once asleep it's the going to sleep by herself that's the problem right now.

our new words include, cheese, shoes, bubble, button and 'what's this?'

Oh and we are off on holiday next thursday, BA permitting :S

  • LOL MacSmiler - they are very cute at this age aren't they? My favourite word is 'tack-tor' but today for his CM Benjamin slapped his highchair and shouted 'DIN-NERRRRR' :D

    you guys are great :D

MFD - of course you aren't gloating! Well done - that's fab!

Well, I think she's asleep?! that was 25 mins and shes not made a noise for 5 mins. I don't want to check in case she's not.....!

aless - you are right. I'm helping her and I promised myself I would give it a week and quite accept that if it doesn't work then we'll try something else. Not that I'm sure what else we can try!

Oh and we got her a teething necklace (very hippy for me!) and I think that its helped - although shes only had it for 2 and a bit days. :D anyone else any experience of these?

He certainly does like his food. The CM's daughter told the Offsted inspector that Benjamin cries every day...when the inspector asked why the little girl (4) said that Benjamin is a hungry boy and sometimes mummy doesn't feed him quick enough so he shouts at her :rotfl:
