Susan, apparently you have to contact our surgery if you want your child to have the jab... My friend told me when she'd booked her daughter in, the surgery haven't been in contact at all...
We also get letters through with appointments already booked for jabs...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Ours (or rather our previous one - we haven't had any here yet) just does Tuesday afternoons. We don't book - they just send you appointemnts through the central system.

I got a letter from our surgery telling me to phone up and make an appointment for it, or to phone up and tell them not to contact me again about the swine flu jab. I did neither. Just lobbed the letter in the bin.
i know people have mixed views on it, but I personally have a few reasons:
1) I hate making Keira get a needle 2) Swine flu has all but dissapeared, gotta love the media and it's tall tales and 3) For me, it's a new injection out, it probably hasn't been tested very well and could have scary side effects further down the line for all I know.
I'm sure most people with swine flu, actually just had a cold, or the regular flu.0 -
WM - my god Alex is a gorgeous child!!
Can't see Joe properly LOLMFD and anyone else who does it, can I ask why do you use active fit nappies? I've always just used baby dry because they are cheaper (and Chris is allergic to them but I only found that out when mum bought some)
I use Active Fit because they are much thinner in the gusset area - which makes it easier for baby to move around. However, they are not as big so not as absorbent so we have Baby Dry at night (when I don't want him moving around too much anyway LOL). He walks (in the words of 3) like he has just got off a big horse in his nighttime nappy.
I have been using purple ones since not long after he started crawling. We got a sample in the 6m bounty pack and I noticed the difference straight away so I switched.Speaking of which, has anyone actually been offered the Swine Flu jab for their children?
Yes. We were offered via a letter from our doc many months ago - end of last year sometime? We were asked to book or call and inform the doc if we weren't going to have it. We refused and then we got another letter from the local PCT warning us that we were putting our child at increased risk by not having it
I think what they actually meant was 'we have tons of the stuff in stock - somebody must want some'
Boots were extremely helpful, finding me the last 2 packs of Size 5's in stock...even though they needed to get the stepladders out to get them down - and then the lovely lady on the pharmacy went and got me some vouchers from the machine and saved me an extra £5 :money:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I've had a productive day for once. The kitchen is spotless. I put *some* clothes away, just mine left to go, load of towels have been washed, I made black bean quesilldias for lunch, Keira actually tried a TINY bit, she promises she will eat the macaroni cheese for dinner that I've half made.
My bedroom smells mouldy or something, I'm sure it's the window, as it keeps growing black mould on it, and Keira's carpet has a smell too, like damp? Not sure, think it goes back from when she did a massive wee on the carpet and I didnt realise for about 2 days  Rotten!! Im borrowing the steam cleaner from my gran, all my carpets need a good clean. Refuse to buy new ones since the cats wreck em0 -

If it was me, I would take the leaflet into the surgery, get the receptionist to photocopy it, write a note to the GP you saw today explaining this is the one you want. Ring surgery later on that day and see what he says. If he says no, then ask them to pass the note and leaflet onto the baby doctor and ask them to look at the consultation from today.
You don't need an appointment to sort things out you know? But keep the leaflet, these things go missing!

Most surgeries have a set baby clinc for jabs then the Central Child Services send out the appointments when each baby is due. Its easier for the nurse to do them in a whole session as she can have all the paperwork and jabs ready, I think most surgeries would do it at another time if you explained you couldn't make a specific session however some surgeries insist they need 2 nurses present (a load of crap) and others will only have a certain nurse that is trained to do it.
WM - lovely pics! A is gorgeous!
J is currently trying to escape the highchair
Feeling much better today, need to have a tidy round today as my Dad is coming tomorrow. Also I want to go to my Mummy friends meet in the morning but I can only do that if house is clean and OH will drive me!

i got a letter back in March from docs offering A the swine flu jab, but it said she had a week then they would not be offering the vaccine any more, which led me to think, if there not offering it anymore it cant be all that critical!!!0
