  • Has anyone ever heard of a doctors only giving jabs in the morning? Just phoned to book Benjamin in for his MMR and they won't give me an afternoon appointment.

So we go next Tuesday at 11.50am.

Ours only does afternoons, Tuesday 1.30 til 4.30, when baby clinic is on.

Thanks for reminding me I haven't booked V in for hers yet. :(

MFD ours only does vaccinations in the mornings in case the baby has a reaction to the jab, so you can get him or her back before the surgery closes :)

My little monster has so far today pooped on her blanket during nudey butt time, pulled herself almost to standing (she was a foot-shuffle away when she lost her balance) and dismantled the cushion-fort around where she fell asleep to hang her head off the sofa. She is now beating Donkey Hotey and Winnie the Pooh together in the babycage.

The receptionist said they do it so you can go back if baby has a reaction to the jab...

...but if Benjamin was reacting that badly I would go to A&E anyway?

Have texted hubby to see if he will do it...I doubt I can take Tuesday and Wednesday off work...:(

<<< would be checking nhs direct out to see if I could find another doctors surgery - what nonsense, 2 weeks for an appointment!

Or do you have a drop in clinic near you? I have heard good reports about them.

Only stay at the doctors because work, Joe's school and home are in less than a 5 min radius. That was really handy last year, before OH moved jobs and he used the car to drive to Manchester and I was left walking . Now he gets the bus to the town center and I have the car :D. Really should get my !!! into gear and move. OH stayed at our old doctors, when we moved. It is fab, ring up, "can i have an appointment please?". "yes, can you come in in half an hour". And the doctors and practice nurse are all lovely too.

Walk in Centers - non in Wigan, but have them in some of the surrounding towns, less than 10 miles away to then all I think. But have never been to any.

Friday afternoon would be perfect for me!
    Early finish for the afternoon.;)

Have bacon barm, S+V discos, flake and can of pepsi to calm may doctor rage. Think it will work?

Gotta be worth a try...on both counts!!

This website lets you find surgeries accepting patients in your area ;)

It does dentists too, which is what I need because mine is in Stoke and I live in Wolverhampton...not lugging the babba up here with me!

hmmm, I thought we were moving towards dropping the lunchtime booby feed but today Ed decided he'd not bother with the one after bfast and I've had to offer because left was so much bigger than right I was in danger of falling over :rotfl: I need to get more organised, we only had bfast at 10:30ish today which is what messed everything up I think.

MFD and anyone else who does it, can I ask why do you use active fit nappies? I've always just used baby dry because they are cheaper (and Chris is allergic to them but I only found that out when mum bought some)
