PS Tia, the whole meal with the potato wedges etc is 679 calories, less than 5% fat and no saturated fat.

    Just FYI really!

weezl peal wally means pale/insipid type thing :)

Tia - I responded to your fairy offer on fb, don't think it's notified you though :(

My fairies have 2x £1 off cow & gate 1yr + milk if anyone's interested?

tia thank you that's fab feedback :) you are my first tester (other than DH) for a recipe from the vegan planner :T:T:T

    can I just ask:

erm, what is peelly wally and is it a bad thing? Pale - lack of balsamic meant it didn't go the nice caramelised brown colour, but I could have batch cooked the onions to get the same effect, I was just lazy.

If in dire straights financially, would your family be happy to eat it again? How many times per week or month might they consider having it? - Right now I'd make it again. Probably twice a month? More for lunches for me (I'd quarter the ingredients to make a small one for me as a lunch). Actually, it would look lovely as little individual tart a whatsits, for a posh dinner I'd probably make up a little red wine reduction and pour that over it on the plate ;)

Marks out of 10? - 8, only because I prefer buttery pastry, sorry!

And finally, with HM potato wedges and peas the whole meal is 22p per head :money:(it's my cheapest dinner on the vegan planner) so was it filling enough for you all?

Ignore questions if you CBA :)- we had it with just bread and salad, yes it was filling enough as a light dinner, I'd have to give DH and the boys a desert after it to keep them happy though. (bit of cake or something)

eta: agree about the red onions :) but kitty can't afford them ;)- I buy the tesco value ones, lot of waste in them though.

Got to run, make tea then go get Chris.

    Weezl - Yes:(

So tired today, K has developed a bit of a cough and snotty nose so woke up a few times last night....I smothered him in Vicks which seemed to help. I also managed to get chronic cramp in my calf, it feels sore and bruised now, I hate cramp with a passion!

I haven't noticed any of those nappies on offer MFD. I get the normal Pampers, K is in size 4+ at the moment and they still fit fine.

3 - Will definitely have to meet up, I bet V and K would love toddling round together hehe x

Sami - I can't believe how grown up both your boys look, and so alike. They are both very handsome:D Glad the Christening went well, and the cake looked fab.

Need to make K lunch now, as we need to go shopping.

    Mel x

    Hi sm :)
No change here, we haven't tried again since easter. I was talking to the HV about it and said I'm just going to go with the flow and not get hung up on it.

Sorry for late reply I'm bobbing in and out whilst trying to entertain the lil lady!

Gorgeous pictures Sami and Bruno :)

Weezl, I have Husband looking at your site, he is the resident kitchen fiend and is quite interested. I don't think we'll follow the meal plan but he was looking and was interested :)

Actually, I'm considering making the onion tart as little starter type things for when my friends come to lunch. The first one to do the cooking went all out and the bar is set hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh like a group of teenagers with a bag of oregano and an imagination.

I can't give you costs and stuff because things cost different here, but let me share another recipe for Bob and Shirley?

    Red lentil pie:

half a bag of red lentils
    chopped onion
    bit of garlic
optional other veg: courgette, carrot, peppers, whatever's cheap and nommy
    squeeze of tomato puree
    spoon of marmite
    salt/pepper/herbs of choice
[steal the HM pastry from the onion tart]

Make the pastry and line a pie dish with it.

Cook the onions, garlic and veg in a tiny bit of oil and tip them out of the saucepan (you should keep them, though). Add in the lentils and the herbs/seasonings, stir them around and cook in boiling water till they're soft and ready. Stir in the veg. Bake in the oven till the pastry's cooked. Serve with salad, nomnomnom.
