Sounds like a goer 3. Glad OH enjoyed his surprise. I take it that you 2 didn't polish off the JD last night then?
Where has the best offers on Pampers Purple Ones (Easy-Fit???) ATM? My chunky legged monkey is moving on up to a size 5 :eek:0 -
Next month when T will be nearly 13 weeks we are going to my uncles 60th in Ripon, it'll be T's first long journey and Im feeling a lil apprehensive so any hints, tips, advice would be welcome. Also we will be staying away from home at my mums for 3 nights, Any tips on settling babies in strange places would be welcome.
Now for a rant as we are going to this party/family get together (at my cousins house and starts at 3pm), OH has made plans (without asking me!) to go to his SILs 40th party which doesnt start till 8pm and is an hours drive away, so basically right when T is at her grottiest. I really dont want to go as we dont really get on with her family and generally they ignore us and am worried they'll all be smoking. But OH says if we can go to my family then we have to go to his cos its unfair (I said he didnt have to tell them!), its in less than 2 weeks time too
Som - all babies are different and mine has been fine any time we have been away from home. Just do what you normally do and don't stress so she doesn't even register that there is much of a change. I got the impression T is quite a chilled baby compared to some, so she will hopefully be fine.
Also, I would make the effort to visit OHs family. If he wants to go then I think it's only fair. It's not like you are having to go regularly. IMO, even if T does have some sort of routine etc, she is only young and it can be interrupted for a night or two. I think routines etc still need to be adaptable on occasion.0 -
Do you think I should go for the 12mth+ ones then? Hes 7 months and in a 2-3.5 size sock?
I'd go for the 12mth + ones.
We had a couple of sets of the up to 12 mths ones for V. The were big when she was new, but she soon grew out of them, well before she was one.
I think £13-£16 is about average for them on ebay.
There is also the Tiny Sock Company who do similar, but I don't think they do as many boys styles.
ETA: Did anyone watch the Prison thing on ITV last night? Apparently my uncle was on it (prison officer, not an inmate!). I need to find it on catch up.:beer:0 -
Meant to say HELLO POOKIE!!! Nice to see you on here again. Sorry to hear about your dad. It's very difficult. Are you enjoying being back at work (I think you are a nurse, is that right??)?
Csh/Caz - I have never had stovies!! I think i am going to make corned beef hash for dinner though as I bought a tin of corned beef about 4 years ago to make it and it's still lying there lol.
Holly was awake a few times last night, but the good thing is, my clever girl has worked out how to batter her cot mobile/projector with her feet so that it goes on. I was woken up a couple of times with the lullabies and heartbeat sound (depending on which buttons she has managed to kick)! However it seemed to keep her amused until she fell back to sleep, so that's good. So she did 8.30 - 5am before I took her into the spare room for another 3 hours.
Off for a shower now whilst H is napping (with mobile on again as she seems to be addicted to it now). x0 -
csh if you want some generally bright funky socks I got a pack of 5 from next the other week they are orange, red, green. blue and navy. here's Chris wearing the navy ones
btw - my sis said she wanted to take a picture of him where you could see his funky shoes, so he took one off lol0 -
Som, I hate going to OH's family but we see mine a lot.
I think it's not so much about what's fair, but more about what you and T can cope with. If we had to do what was fair here, all that would happen is we'd see my family less, because I couldn't see his more IYSWIM, I'd be cutting of my nose to keep my face happy, :rotfl:
don't know if that helps at all.
Do what feels right, you have good mummy instincts

Oh very handsome there! Its the trumpettes I'm after really. We have lots of funky socks but since its allegedly summer time and K might at some point wear short trousers and he doesn'y wear shoes I thought the trumpettes would look good.
 at the time, must go and get sorted for yoga, catch you all later x0 -
No idea whats up with Amber right now. Past few nights she has been waking up screaming and will only settle cuddled into me on my bed, then she starts to wriggle wants her cot again, sleeps for about 20mins and screams again. Repeat X20.
DH, BIL and FIL are up the loft with the first load of flooring and plasterboard woohoo!! Boohoo for the noise, but woohoo for it getting started! I've to pick lights now
B&Q woohoo!
(and Amber is going into size 4 huggies, I like them to be too big rather than too small)0
