EA - just letting you know there is an issue with some part of the MMR and ttc, I think it's the rubella part but not sure. Just wanted you to know incase they doc isn't aware - I've no idea how well known it is and I only found out after having had an MMR days before conceiving Ed.
I'd take the pg vits now too, the only thing they'll be lacking (i think) is vit A because it's a no no in pg, I think getting fbc and ferritin (sp?) is a good idea if you're not phased by having blood taken :)

    19th May NW Meet
As far as I know, it's here: http://www.landofplay.co.uk/ at 11am??
    All Welcome!

Krystal, acts of god aside are you definitely coming? I was 50/50 but will make the effort to finally meet you! :D

Anyone seen a cute 'bug' outfit for a 1yo?
Mum's school's carnival float is bug themed this year, Chris is being the hungry caterpillar & mum is the butterfly  so I need something for Ed, I know mothercare do bee outfits but they looked quite warm and it will be in june so need something summery that I can just put extra layers under/over if it's not warm

    Morning all.

I am probably wrong about the duvet...I. suppose I could look it up but regardless there is no way that I would sleep if Benjamin had one and he definitely won't be having a pillow for a long time yet.

I am the first person to say you should trust your instincts with your child so I don't know why I raised what 'they' say LOL.

    I thought it wasn't like you ;)

Its a baby duvet and actually quite thin, he's had it for about 2 weeks now. He doesn't like the sleeping bag anymore and the blankets don't last long, at least with the duvet it keeps him warm. Plus he's been sleeping in our bed with our duvet over him for months - he used to come in our bed with his 2.5tog sleeping bag and the duvet over him. *shrugs*
It was bloodly freezing last night!

When we go in the spare room he actually moves himself up to put his head on my pillow and if he's on the pillow he doesn't wake at all. I have a child who wants to break all the rules - wonder where he gets that from
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

The duvet thing is like keeping baby in with you for 6 months etc. It's related to SIDS, and it's up to the individual to take their own risks I guess. The risks must be small, but everyone is different and thinks differently.

I am still here as waiting on Holly to surface. She is on a 2 hour nap!!! She never sleeps this long. I don't want to wake her, but it will be raining before we leave the house! Just had rolls and sausage for brunch and now DH is going to get a haircut.

Tia - We were at the Brig O' Doon. I've been to a few weddings in there and it's gorgeous. That's not far from you is it?

Glam - do you know the tog of J's duvet? Chris's cot bed one (ikea) was only 3tog so not much different to a sleeping bag and nothing to an adult duvet, ours is 13.5tog

Glad you've finally got a bath seat Fitz! I think OH has broken ours  bloody retard!

I was thinking it was probably the Brig O'Doon, it's lovely there! Not far, we go for walks round about there. Especially a place called Berlisle, which is about a 10-15min walk from the Brig. Probably off there later :D

Ambers quilt (from asda) is 3tog, most baby quilts are 3-4tog.

I don't see a problem with it. It's lighter than a fleece blanket, so I can't see the risk of suffocation, it's just not heavy enough. Nor can I see the risk of 'stale air', again, not heavy enough to block the passage of o2. And as for overheating, it's no warmer than a regular blanket that I would use (cotton cellular folded in half).

Plus Amber is old enough to regulate her temperature better.

Have been to Belleisle and also Rozelle? Can't really remember what they are like though as it was a few years ago when DH lived with his parents and we would be out looking for places to go. One had water running through it and I think you could cross it on stepping stones (but maybe not!).
Will probably go to places like that more now that we have Holly. Meant to be going to Calderglen Country Park in EK today. Think I will just go and wake Holly. Hope she is ok!!!!!
