  • Afternoon all,

    Am very sad that there are so many meets going on without me :(

    Have been out training some site lads today and was disgusted how Jeremy Vines radio programme was blaming bad diets on being poor. Thank you for emailing for me Jillie. However, after posting I left the canteen so didn't listen to the rest of the programme :rotfl:

    Pleased to report that I stopped into boots earlier and that we will not be having another anniversary baby :D Hubby and I have been married for 4 years today and 2 years ago found out we were pregnant.

    Off to pick up the babba - hugs all round xx

    Is there anyone on here from the Lake District who can reccommend a swimming pool? We're going to stay at my auntie's caravan at Pooley Bridge, nr Penrith, and we want to take Thomas swimming while we're there. He'll be just about 12 weeks when we go and it will most likely be his first swim. There is a swimming pool at Penrith but just wondered if that was the best for babies or if it's worth travelling a bit, we have a car. Main priority is warm baby pool I guess, not bothered about going to a special session.

    As Luce said the Keswick pool is great :D They have baby sessions in the morning, I think it's mon, wed, fri mornings at 10am but you might want to check the website as that was the easter timetable and it might have changed since then. They also provide floats including baby seats so you just need a swim nappy and towel for LO. The pool is lovely and warm and the changing rooms are not bad either. Not sure if there is one in Penrith though, it might just be a basic one.

    Just had a look at their timetable and it is still 10am Mon, Wed. Fri. It's about a 20min drive from Penrith. I always go when I go home, those who don't want to swim can sit round the outside and watch and we have always had a lovely time. It's great having the sloping floor so you can paddle for a bit as well as swimming and you can leave your towel on one of the chairs round the pool so you can dry off before going back to the changing rooms (which are a bit cooler).

    Hugs CAFC, we all cry in the first few weeks after the birth, it's totally normal whether for happy reasons or sad, even those of us who had good births. Just try and focus on the good points, your lovely baby and the wonderful little family you now have.

    It's :beer::beer::beer:

    With our current situations being pregnant would not be the best thing for us at the moment.

    Thank you!

    Thanks Jenny and Luce, this pool looks fab. Is that a slide as well?? :T We will definitelty take him to this one. I love that they provide floats and swim chairs too. I've ordered a pair of swimtrunks with a lining to go over his swim nappy as I don't want to take any chances....I've yet to find a nappy that can contain his poo leaks _pale_

    CAFC girl - as Jenny says, even the mummy with the easiest of labour/births will be feeling tearful and emotional right now. Your body has gone through a huge trauma and your hormones are up the wall.

    In time you may find it helpful to speak to someone about it but let things settle a bit soon.

    Have you written a full in-depth birth story? This really helped me and even now I read it occasionally to remember what it was like and to reassure myself that it was the way that it had to be.

    BIG HUGS to you and Landen xx
