Anyway, reminder for the morning mummies - anyone Liverpool-ish free on Monday for baby related shenanigans?

:(I won't be able to make this either, it's ds1's sports day. That's one thing, the more kids you have, the more appts/activities you have to attend, your own plans get put to the back of the queue.

Off to tots group today, I was thinking of giving it a miss but poor K has been milling around the house since T was born, I kinda feel sorry for him....so off we go:D

    xx

That's great GISI, well done Henry.

We've had 6 nights in a row now with no night / early morning feeds, double the previous record so I'm very pleased!!

There is a lot going on next week isn't there?!

Sugar I may be able to get across to Liverpool on Monday :) I will let you know later on

Guardian article about the claim that home birth is riskier for babies but safer for mothers.

Very much a fearmongering piece, but tucked away near the bottom:

a recent study in Scotland had shown that any difference in outcomes for babies disappeared if women considered at high risk of complications during pregnancy and delivery were taken out of the equation. Screening to pick up such women was important, he said, and so were arrangements to get a women to hospital if something went wrong during a home birth. "Mothers should not be alarmed as long as there is a transfer mechanism if there is a difficulty,"

I'm finding it rather irresponsible, again.
Last time I checked, I think The Netherlands had similar maternal/neonatal morbidity rates to us and they have around 60% homebirth because it is the default for low risk births between 37 and 42 weeks. That's good enough for me because it includes everyone. All these studies exclude people for statistical purposes but by doing that you can make the figures say anything so unless I know exactly the critieria for inclusion/exclusion I don't really trust them. Even if it's looking at "planned" homebirth, it might include people who chose to go ahead with a home birth against medical advice.
Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.

I've got a consultant appointment at J's school this morning, and plan to pop in to my friends on the way back for tea and cake.

OH & I shared a bottle of wine last night - I feel like crap, like i've had a big wild night out!?!

    Morning All

We relegated ourselves to the living room last night so DH could get some sleep ahead of work. Our bedroom was 26 degrees, and Landen really struggles to settle in his moses basket up there.
So we came downstairs and he went to sleep in his cot basket down here and I slept on the sofa, had 3 hours, then 2, then hour and a half before DH got up, and then I grabbed an hour before DH went to work.......

Can I ask the advice of anyone who has had a c-section? My wound still hurts (as to be expected only been 12 days LOL) but I have got horrendous pain in my back, on my left side about 4 inches up from my backside, in line with my epidural entry point. I dont know if the two are linked, but it is so painful. Nothing I do seems to help it, and Im just wondering if its just a side effect of epidural. He was telling me all the side effects but at that point i could barely remember my own name!

    Hey Jam,

Searchie has asked me the same ;) I'm not sure yet, feel like I've been away for too long.

Lots happening here, just not good things:
    Burglary
    Cancelled holiday
Rubbish birthday - because of the 2 above
Liam burnt his hand - virtually healed now :)
OH had slight accident on bike - luckily OH fine, bike being repaired by insurance

Other than that I've been plodding along, working and spending time in the sun :)

    How are you and C?

ETA: Hi 3 - see above.
Hope your head clears before your appointment
