  • Benjamin has porridge (sometimes with the discarded bits of apple from the organix boxes of raisins and apple - he won't eat the apple LOL), weetabix or shreddies with me. Followed by 2 fromage frais (he is like his mother, one ff is never enough) and some fruit.

Thanks Angela, Sugar, Bruno and MFD! I am glad you are not all feeding your LOs fancy pancakes every day and I am not the only one giving cereal. Will need to start adding variety of fruit at least I think. I think that cereal every day is fine, I suppose I just feel that she should be trying a wider variety and I am guilty of not providing that. Appreciate the feedback anyway.

    Off out now. x

oh lovely, summer hols were so the best bit of my life at their age and what a fab job! I remember some of my friends doing modern apprenticeships with me were only on £65 a week

I know...she's having a whale of a time shopping and pics etc and she's only doing a few days a week...

Krystal has just reminded me....do any of your little ones just go off food they used to like? Rose used to love fish of any sort. Fish pie was her fav...she will not touch it anymore. She has a chest infection around the time she went off it but still does not like it now she's okay now. She has also went off cucumber and carrot sticks even tho she used to love them....strange!!

Aimee did that over loads of things Angela... She used to love pizza fingers, and also any kind of pasta... Then she just stopped eating both... Around the same time she also wouldn't eat anything in a white sauce, or anything with gravy on... She still doesn't have gravy on a cooked dinner now... But she will eat most things I give her... It took from about 18m to 4 1/2-5 before tea time was less of a battle though...

I think its just general fads Angela, Chris used to eat fish pie or just mash until I thought it might start coming out if his ears but now he won't touch it.
I had a phase of about 5years where I refused to eat any fish bar fish fingers - kids ay!

Krystal do you think it was her going to school that helped with eating? I'm hoping peer pressure with work on Chris when he starts nursery, he used to eat alsorts for the CM because everyone else was *rolleyes*

Benjamin loves those little scotch pancakes that you buy in the supermarket but he doesn't get them for breakfast - we use them as a dessert or a sweet snack that isn't messy!!

DSS gets nutella on toast at home because the advert says it is good for kids *rolleyes*

Sami I'd say nothing about it in the FB but hammer them in the "speed of dispatch" box :) I'd also leave feedback like "Received, thanks".

Sami - I agree. In those circumstances, I would probably keep the doors locked until I was sure it was genuine, but I like to think that I would ask if they need an ambulance called.

I had a similar experience (to the original stories, not what i've actually quoted lol) a year or so ago on my way to work. I saw a bike lying on a path with a person lying on the floor next to it. I was on the other side of a busyish road (steady flow of traffic) and saw that noone had stopped. I turned round at the roundabout and a man had stopped by then. Turned out it was a young 11 year old girl on her way to school. She was ok but very shocked and upset with badly cut knees. She lived relatively near by so I took her in my car and the man took her bike. He said he was so relieved i stopped too coz he couldnt have comfortably took a young girl in his car. No idea how long she'd been there before we stopped but someone must have seen her fall and hundreds of cars must have driven past

I missed one day and it's taken me ages to catch up!

Hiya redstar. good to see you on here  How's your DD getting on with Freddie? Is he letting his poor mummy get a bit more sleep?

MFD - what a bloody pillock that bloke is! I dread the thought of going back to work and would be devastated if someone implied i wasnt a proper mum when i do!

had a lovely day in northampton with my sis yesterday. She loved playing with her nephew and pushing him round in his pram. We didnt get home until 11.40 tho  we usually get back for 9.30 which i thought was bad enough and couldnt believe it when we didnt leave till 9. dont know where the time went!
Hoped we could transfer a sleeping T from carseat to basket...no chance! He woke up crying so ended up changing and feeding him, then indulged him by letting him suck my little finger till he fell asleep lol. he let me lie in until 9.30 today tho (with a feed at 6am)

my mil is lovely but a bit mad at times and says some really silly things. T is the spit of his dad, looking at DH's baby pics u'd think it was same child! I love that he looks like DH but it drives me mad when she says "can you see anything from you in him Gill?"!! Then when i point out what he has got from me (same shape feet, big feet lol, long arms and legs) she tries to say their from her! urm excuse me but she's average height with normal arms and legs where i'm 5ft 7 and really struggle buying jackets etc coz arms are always too short.

She really peed me off last fri tho coz T had a bit of wind and she was belting his back. then he was a bit sniffly and she was asking where he could possibly have caught a cold from (several times!) I'm not housebound and had a cold myself earlier in wk!

DH's bro then asked could it be hayfever coz his was bad that day. i said it was a possibility and she asked could he have caught it (hayfever!!!) through my breast milk!!! I politely explained that it could be herediteryb as DH and i both have it but u cant possibly get it from breast milk grrrrrrr

i'm going to breast feeding group now so back later

I don't think so... When she was in reception she really wanted school dinners so I let her have them for a time... She was coming out of school starving and miserable and when I asked her what she'd had for lunch it would be things like "there was potato and chicken things but I didn't like the chicken so I just ate the potato..." and 1 day she had pasta, decided she didn't like it so all she had all day was an apple... I paid £1.80 for her to eat an apple...

I put her back on packed lunches after that... Although now she's better, she has had school dinners for the last couple of weeks because she wants to be like her friend... She seems to eat them now...

I think it's an age thing... I also think perseverence helps... I have *always* given Aimee the same food as I am having, and I've never let her leave it without trying at least 1 bite... When she was smaller, if she'd left her tea I would let her have a piece of fruit before bed rather than go down hungry, but now she's bigger that's it... She doesn't eat her tea, she doesn't get anything else... Her friend that often comes to play is hideously picky, but her Mum has taken the path of "there's no point giving it to her because she won't eat it..." I think that's a slippy slope to yellow food...
