morning everyone.
Grr - what is wrong with some people?
My mum just rang. She was woken up last night at 11pm by someone banging loudly on the door. They live on a really busy road. It was a young lad who's girlfriend had come off her moped and he wanted to use the phone to call an ambulance. My mum went out with a blanket for her and she was still in the road where she had come off. This frightened my mum, because cars come whizzing round at 60 + and it's hard enough to even cross the road. According to the lad a number of cars had passed and no-one even tried to stop - one car slowed down, so he had started to go over to it, at which point they sped away. My Dad turned his headlights on and hazards so that people would see and not hit the poor girl before the ambulance arrived and they moved the bike so that in the event of a collision, a car would hit that and not the girl - several cars flashed my dad and one slowed down to shout abuse - why can't they use their eyes?!?
Anyway rant over, they got her to hospital and fingers crossed she'll recover ok

That's horrible redstar. Hope she is okay and thank goodness that the young lad knocked on the door of such kind people as your parents. x
I remember years ago my boss was very late coming into work. On one of the backstreets there was a man (a homeless man) laying in the road and cars were having to drive up onto the pavement to get around him. My boss had gotten out of her car to see if the man was okay (much to the annoyance of the people in cars behind her). The man was dead and had been laying in the road for some time in the middle of a busy city and nobody had cared
So very sad. please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

I agree Angela...but I couldn't say with 100% certainty that I would intervene. I like to think I would but I can understand why people worry.
Lovely to see you BTW xplease listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

Morning all - my cutie baby went to the CM in his lovely white England kit today - the CM took one look at him and burst out laughing saying 'You don't expect me to keep that clean do you - they have a birthday party with chocolate cake at pre-school today' :rotfl::rotfl:
spooning meals Ed has shreddies, cheerios, rice krispies, museli with milk or museli with yoghurt/from frais. I add about 1tbsp of milk to the yog to make it a nice consistency otherwise its a bit too cement like...
What does everyone give their LO's for breakfast (or what did you give them when they were about Holly's age)? I am feeling guilty as she gets baby porridge or Weetabix most days which is totally boring, but it's just so easy as I give her breakfast when she wakes before her bottle, so it's nice and quick. This morning I gave her a bottle first as she was awake and I knew she was hungry, so I made her boiled egg mashed with butter, but she wasn't keen. Ended up with wholemeal toast and sliced banana. She has had french toast once, but isn't brilliant with finger food yet, so i worry she isn't eating enough. With Weetabix, I know how much she is eating!
Angela - nice to see you back again
hows things with the big kids? (I hope i've remebered that right:o)
JM - where have you been recently?
I feel like a bag of crap today

I don't really know what to do with her... She goes down for the night fine, and generally sleeps through (or if she wakes she only needs her water cup and she goes straight off) but I can't do anything about the morning wakings... I know she probably needs to go back down, and the hour and a half nap she just took shows she's tired... But how do I do it without disturbing Aimee?!Krystal - Poor you. I wish you could sort out Caitlyn's sleeping. You will be shattered getting up at that time in early stages of pregnancy! I remember I couldn't believe how floored I was with tiredness.

And don't feel guilty about the breakfast thing, if she didn't want it she'd definitely let you know...

I've always wondered what I'd do in times like those but I'm pretty sure I'd do 'something' as opposed to nothing, I stopped and helped a dog that had been hit by a car last year when everyone was just driving around it
. I am wary of that scam where someone pretends to be hurt so they can steal your car when you get out so I'd probably stay in my locked car and call the police or something but I just couldn't live with the guilt of doing nothing. 0 -
I used to live on a dual carriage way and something similar happened, a young lad on a moped hit an elderly man as he stepped off the curb... Because my house was the first after the barrier the young lad came knocking on my door... We went out with blankets and talked to the old man, he gave me his sons number and I popped in to ring his son... Nobody else stopped to help at all... The police arrived with the ambulance and plenty of people slowed down then though...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Sami - I agree. In those circumstances, I would probably keep the doors locked until I was sure it was genuine, but I like to think that I would ask if they need an ambulance called.
